New York, New York - August 24, 2010 - The first season of Syfy original series Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files (Thursdays 10-11 PM ET/PT) averaged 561,000 in Adults 18-49, 587,000 in Adults 25-54 and 1,037,000 Total Viewers, the best performance for a Thursday original series since the first season of Who Wants to be Superhero? premiered in 2006. Compared to the same time period in the second quarter of 2010, the ratings increased by an average of 65% in Adults 18-49, 59% in Adults 25-54s and 59% in Total Viewers.

Syfy ordered six additional new episodes of the reality hit, which will begin airing on Thursday, November 4th at 9/8c PM. Filming will commence this Friday, August 27th.

Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files earned 1.1 million page views at Syfy.com, 184,000 unique visits and 733,000 video streams during its first season. This is Syfy's best first season ever for any reality series in video streams and best since Who Wants To Be A Superhero? in 2006 in page views and unique visits.

Investigative series Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files continues with its mission to uncover the truth behind some of the most compelling, mystifying and seemingly unexplainable images caught on camera and posted on the Internet. The series features former FBI Special Agent Ben Hansen, lead scientist Bill Murphy, effects specialist Larry Caughlin, journalist Jael De Pardo, photography expert Chi-Lan Lieu, and stunt expert Austin Porter.
