OXYGEN MEDIA RECORDS SEASON HIGHS WITH TUESDAY'S BROADCASTS OF "BAD GIRLS CLUB MIAMI" AND "HAIR BATTLE SPECTACULAR"
Oxygen Has Most Watched Total Day Among W18-34 and A18-34 and Beats Broadcast Nets ABC, CBS and the CW in the 9PM-11PM Hour
New York, NY - September 15, 2010 - Oxygen's Tuesday night broadcast of hit shows "Bad Girls Club Miami" and "Hair Battle Spectacular" set season highs among most key demos, according to Nielsen Media Research. The sixth episode of "Bad Girls Club Miami" recorded 794,000 W18-34, 1,099,000 A18-34, 1,023,000 W18-49, 1,434,000 A18-49 and 1,942,000 total viewers. Oxygen was ranked the #1 cable network in the 9PM hour among W18-34, outdelivering broadcast networks ABC, CBS and the CW. Additionally, Oxygen recorded its most watched Total Day among W18-34 and A18-34 with a stack of "Bad Girls Club" repeats and the all-new episodes of both original series.
Week five of fantasy hair competition show "Hair Battle Spectacular," also earned a season high in all key demos, delivering 405,000 W18-34, 509,000 A18-34, 548,000 W18-49, 772,000 A18-49 and 1,106,000 total viewers. In the 10PM hour, Oxygen beat out broadcast network CBS in the W18-34 and A18-34 demos.
In conjunction with Tuesday's broadcasts, OxygenLive.com, Oxygen's real-time watercooler destination, unveiled two new social media initiatives - Blurts and Miso - to further enhance the fan experience. "Bad Girls Club Miami" is currently the #1 trending topic on Miso (www.gomiso.com) and garnered three trending topics on Twitter in the 11PM hour on Tuesday night.
