Ratings Report for ABC News' "Nightline" For the Week of January 10, 2011

"NIGHTLINE" IS #1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS, ADULTS 18-49 AND ADULTS 25-54 FOR THE WEEK

"NIGHTLINE" IS #1 SEASON TO DATE AMONG ADULTS 25-54 AND TOTAL VIEWERS FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 1993

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked as the No. 1 program in late night in Total Viewers (4.03 million), Adults 25-54 (1.70 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.35 million), according to Nielsen Media Research for the week of January 10, 2011. "Nightline" stood as the top program across all three measures for the 2nd week in a row.

Season-to-date, "Nightline" ranks in first place among Total Viewers and A25-54. This is the first time "Nightline" that has been in first place at this point in the season since at least the 1993-94 season, when "Letterman" began on CBS.

For the 2nd straight week, "Nightline" improved on the year-ago week in Total Viewers (+11%), Adults 25-54 (+18%) and Adults 18-49 (+14%). In fact, the ABC program grew over the same week last year in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the 5th time in the last 6 weeks. Amongst the three late night shows, "Nightline" stood as the only program to build on the same week last year in all three Nielsen measures.

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Bill Weir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.

During the week of January 10, 2011, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" drew the show's 2nd-highest Adults 18-49 audience (784,000) of the season. Building on the previous week for the 3rd week in a row (+4% -- 755,000 on w/o 1/3/11), "JKL" registered its best young adult performance in nearly 2 months - since w/o 11/22/10.

In addition, "JKL" was up in both Total Viewers (+12% -- 1.81 million vs. 1.61 million) and Adults 18-49 (+19% -- 784,000 vs. 657,000) over the year-ago week (w/o 1/11/10), turning in its 2nd consecutive week of year-to-year increases. Impressively, "JKL" posted the largest yearly increase of any late-night program in the key young adult demo.

· ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" by 6% in Total Viewers (1.81 million vs. 1.71 million) and by a sizable 25% in Adults 18-49 (784,000 vs. 627,000), besting the CBS late-night program for the 3rd consecutive week in the key young adult demo and with its largest margin of the season.

· "JKL" topped CBS' "Ferguson" in Adults 18-49 on each of the 4 nights of the week that the two aired in their regular time periods: Monday - 779,000 vs. 574,000; Tuesday - 784,000 vs. 708,000; Thursday - 811,000 vs. 653,000; Friday - 762,000 vs. 557,000.

During the week of January 10, 2011, ABC Late-Night saw week-to-week increases in Total Viewers (2.55 million vs. 2.47 million), Adults 18-49 (971,000 vs. 928,000) and Adults 25-54 (1.18 million vs. 1.13 million), turning in its best performance in nearly 2 months - since w/o 11/22/10. In fact, the Net attracted its 2nd-best numbers of the season across all three measures.

Additionally, ABC was up by 16% over the same week last year (w/o 1/11/10) in viewers (2.55 million vs. 2.20 million), by 20% in Adults 18-49 (971,000 vs. 810,000) and by 22% in Adults 25-54 (1.18 million vs. 968,000). In fact, ABC stood as the only broadcast network in late-night to build over the year-ago week in all three measures.

· During the week of January 10, 2011, ABC posted a first-place finish in late-night in Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54, and ran in a virtual tie for No. 1 with CBS in Total Viewers (2.55 million vs. 2.58 million).
