UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - January 27, 2011 - NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" have generated ratings wins for the late-night week of January 17-21, with "Tonight" delivering bigger audiences than CBS's "Late Show" and ABC's combination of "Nightline" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in every key ratings category and Jimmy Fallon also out-delivering Kimmel and CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in all the key categories: adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers. Note that Monday's NBC and ABC programs are excluded from weeklong averages due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Jay Leno has ranked #1 for 17 of 18 weeks this season versus "Late Show" in viewers 18-49 and for 16 of 18 weeks in total viewers. Jimmy Fallon has ranked #1 versus "Late Late Show" in viewers 18-49 for 18 of 18 weeks. In total viewers, Jimmy has won nine of the last 10 weeks versus "Late Late Show."
Versus the first 18 weeks of last season, "Tonight" is up 40 percent in total viewers (3.862 million vs. 2.766 million), while "Late Show" is down 14 percent (3.592 million vs. 4.196 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon is up 22 percent versus his year-ago pace in total viewers (1.779 million vs. 1.460 million), while "Late Late Show" is down 9 percent (1.778 million vs. 1.953 million).
At 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" is up so far this season versus one year ago by 10 percent in 18-49 viewers (501,000 vs. 455,000) and up 23 percent in total viewers (1.002 million vs. 812,000).
