ABC's Repeat "Rookie Blue" Outdraws NBC's Original Drama in the 10pm hour

Thursday Night (8:00-11:00 p.m.)

With its repeat line-up of back-to-back installments of "Wipeout" into "Rookie Blue," ABC nearly tied Fox, with the season premiere of "So You Think You Can Dance Results Show" in the opening hour of the night, for No. 1 on Thursday in Adults 18-49 (pacing within 1-tenth of a rating point and tied in audience share - 1.5/5 vs. 1.6/5). In addition, ABC ranked No. 1 on the night with Men 18-49 (tie) and led the broadcast pack with Teens 12-17 (tie) and Kids 2-11.

"Wipeout" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

During the 8 o'clock hour, ABC's rebroadcast "Wipeout" (1.6/6) ranked No. 2 to Fox's original "So You Think You Can Dance" in Adults 18-49. The broad-appealing ABC unscripted series finished No. 1 in the hour with Men 18-49 (1.5/6-tie) and was the dominant broadcast program with Kids 2-11, beating Fox's dancing results show premiere by 60% on the latter measure (1.6/6 vs. 1.0/4).

· "Wipeout" generated the series' most-watched (5.5 million) replay in the time period this season.

"Wipeout" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

In the 9 o'clock hour, a second repeat of ABC's "Wipeout" moved up to a definitive No. 1 in Adults 18-49, beating CBS' replay "CSI" by an impressive 54% (2.0/6 vs. 1.3/4). Overall, the "Wipeout" replay finished as the No. 2 TV show of the night in the key young adult sales demo, behind only Fox's first-run "Dance."

· In Total Viewers (6.1 million) and Adults 18-49, "Wipeout" scored season-high repeat numbers.

"Rookie Blue" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

In the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC's repeat "Rookie Blue" outdrew NBC's original drama "Love Bites" by 1.2 million viewers (3.5 million vs. 2.3 million).

· "Rookie Blue" matched its highest repeat Adult 18-49 number (0.9/3) and hit new repeat highs with key Men (M18-34/M18-49).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 41% currently, from 36% at the same point in 2010. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
