"48 HOURS MYSTERY'S" UPDATED REPORT ON SERIAL KILLER MICHAEL GARGIULO WINS TIMESLOT

48 HOURS MYSTERY WAS SATURDAY'S #1 PROGRAM IN HOUSEHOLDS, VIEWERS, ADULTS 25-54 AND ADULTS 18-49

CBS News' 48 HOURS MYSTERY (10:15-11:15 PM) posted a 3.6/07 with 5.22m viewers, 1.7/05 in adults 25-54 and 1.2/04 in adults 18-49, and was first in the 10:00 PM hour in these measures, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Saturday, March 10. 48 HOURS MYSTERY was the night's #1 program in households, viewers, and adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

The broadcast featured correspondent Maureen Maher's updated report, "The Boy Next Door," the story of serial killer Michael Gargiulo, who eluded investigators after brutally murdering a young woman in Chicago. Never charged with that crime, Gargiulo moved to California, where he killed two other young women and attacked a third. One of the young women was a friend of actor Ashton Kutcher. Gargiulo was charged in the California cases but never for the initial murder in Illinois. Following the initial 48 HOURS MYSTERY broadcast, two key witnesses stepped forward, ultimately leading to Gargiulo's indictment after nearly two decades for the Chicago murder. The broadcast detailed the remarkable connections between a cold case going back almost 20 years, with the detectives, the victims' families and friends who never lost faith that justice would eventually be served.
