UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 1, 2012 - With the Monday and Tuesday editions of "The Voice" both ranking among the week's top five primetime telecasts in adults 18-49, NBC has generated an average 1.6 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall for the week of April 23-29, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Monday's "The Voice" ranked #4 for the week among all primetime shows on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, marking the 13th week in a row "The Voice" has finished in the top five among primetime series on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox. Tuesday's "The Voice" Results Show finished #5 for the week in 18-49. "The Biggest Loser," "The Office," "The Celebrity Apprentice" and "Smash" also delivered top-30 rankings for the week in 18-49.

In the valuable adult 18-34 demo, Monday's "The Voice" ranked #2, Tuesday's "The Voice" and "The Office" tied for #8, "Parks and Recreation" tied for #17, "30 Rock" tied for #21, "Community" and "Smash" tied for #25 and "The Biggest Loser" tied for #30.

Primetime averages for the week of April 23-29 in adults 18-49 were Fox (2.3/7), ABC (2.0/6), CBS (1.7/5), NBC (1.6/5) and CW (0.5/2). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (8.4 million), ABC (8.0 million), Fox (7.3 million), NBC (5.2 million) and CW (1.2 million).

NBC highlights for the week of April 23-29

* On Monday, "The Voice" was the #1 telecast of the night in 18-49 and grew versus the prior week by 3 percent in 18-49 and total viewers. "The Voice" was up 111 percent versus NBC's time-period average prior to "The Voice" and up 85 percent in total viewers.

* Also on Monday, "Smash" grew 5 percent week to week in 18-49 rating and was up versus NBC's time-period average for the season prior to "Smash" by 100 percent in 18-49 and 55 percent in total viewers.

* NBC led Monday in adults 18-49 for the 10th time in 12 weeks.

* On Tuesday, NBC ranked #1 in adults 18-49, marking the fourth consecutive Tuesday that NBC has ranked #1 or tied for #1.

* Tuesday's "The Voice" Results Show delivered the #1 rating of the night in adults 18-49 for a fourth week in a row with a 3 percent increase over its prior week's rating. "The Voice" won its hour by a 42 percent margin over ABC's "Dancing With the Stars."

* On Wednesday, "Off Their Rockers" generated a three-week high in 18-49 rating.

* "Law & Order: SVU" matched NBC's highest rating in the Wednesday 10 p.m. ET hour in 11 weeks and captured the network's biggest overall audience in the slot in 15 weeks.

* On Thursday, "30 Rock" hit six-week time-period highs in 18-49 and total viewers with a live telecast, generating week-to-week gains for the show for a third straight week in both categories.

* Also on Thursday, "The Office" ranked #2 in the 9 p.m. ET half-hour among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in the valuable adult 18-34 demographic and was #1 among those networks in men 18-34.

* Thursday's "Parks and Recreation" retained 76 percent retention of its 18-49 lead-in from "The Office," up from "Parks'" 69 percent average in the same time period last season.

* On Friday, "Who Do You Think You Are?" matched its highest 18-49 rating since March 2.

* On Sunday, "The Celebrity Apprentice" won its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET in adults 18-49 for a fourth consecutive week.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

On Monday, April 23 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Voice" (3.8 rating, 10 share in adults 18-49, 10.3 million viewers overall) grew by 3 percent versus the prior week in both 18-49 rating (to a 3.8 from a 3.7) and total viewers (10.3 million vs. 10.0 million). "The Voice" was the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-49 and other key categories. "The Voice" also ranked #1 in its time period versus ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW in adults 18-49 and other key demographics, topping ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" in 18-49 by a 19 percent advantage (3.8 vs. 3.2). From its first half-hour to its fourth, "The Voice" grew by 24 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.2 from a 3.4). "The Voice" has now generated NBC's 12 highest non-Olympic 18-49 ratings in this slot in nearly three and a half years (since November 3, 2008). Versus NBC's averages in the time period this season prior to "The Voice," this week's telecast is up 111 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 3.8 vs. a 1.8, "live plus same day") and up 85 percent in total viewers (10.3 million vs. 5.6 million).

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Smash" (2.0/5 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall) grew versus the prior week by 5 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.0 from a 1.9) and 1 percent in total viewers (6.008 million vs. 5.950 million), for "Smash's" biggest overall audience in three weeks (since April 2). This week's "Smash" is #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, 0.1 of a rating points out of first place, and #1 in adults, men and women 18-34. "Smash" has now delivered NBC's 12 highest in-season 18-49 ratings in this time period since January 31, 2011. This week's "Smash" beat NBC's time-period average this season prior to "Smash" by 100 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 2.0 vs. a 1.0) and by 55 percent in total viewers (6.008 million vs. 3.864 million).

NBC won Monday night in adults 18-49 and other key demographics. NBC has now won 10 of the last 12 Mondays in 18-49, and all 10 Mondays over that stretch that have not featured major sports competition, after having not won an in-season Monday with regular programming in four years

On Tuesday, April 24, from 8-9 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser 13" (2.2/7 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall) earned NBC's second-highest 18-49 rating in this hour since February 21 and finished within a tenth of a rating point of the prior week's 2.3. In total viewers, it's the second-biggest overall audience for NBC in this hour since December 6, 2011, behind only the prior week's 7.0 million. In the time period, this week's "Biggest Loser" is #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and other key demos.

Tuesday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "The Voice" Results Show (3.4/9 in 18-49, 8.9 million viewers overall) is the #1 telecast of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 for a fourth Tuesday in a row. These are the second-highest 18-49 and total-viewer results among four "Voice" Results Show telecasts this season, up versus the prior week by 3 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.4 from a 3.3) and 1 percent in total viewers (8.933 million vs. 8.859 million). "The Voice" won its hour in 18-49 by a 42 percent margin (with a 3.4 rating vs. a 2.4 for ABC's second-place "Dancing With the Stars). In the time period, "The Voice" is #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key demographic -- adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

Tuesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Fashion Star" (1.5/4 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall) equaled its 18-49 rating of the prior week and is up 3 percent in total viewers (4.6 million vs. 4.5 million).

NBC tied for the nightlong win in adults 18-49, marking the fourth Tuesday in a row NBC has ranked #1 or tied for #1 in 18-49.

On Wednesday, April 25 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) hit a three-week high in 18-49 rating, with a 6 percent gain on the prior week's 1.6 rating. In its first four weeks, "Off Their Rockers" has delivered NBC's four biggest overall audiences in the Wednesday 8-8:30 time period since November 30, 2011. In an intensely competitive time period opposite Fox's "American Idol," CBS's "Survivor" and ABC's encore "The Middle," "Off Their Rockers" tied for #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34 and was #2 outright in women 18-34. This week's telecast of "Off Their Rockers" improved on NBC's time-period average this season prior to "Rockers" by 21 percent or 1.0 million persons in total viewers (5.827 million vs. 4.804 million).

Wednesday at 8:30 ET, "Best Friends Forever" averaged a 0.8/2 in 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period opposite Fox's "American Idol," CBS's "Survivor" and ABC's "Suburgatory" encore. "Best Friends Forever" equaled its 18-49 rating of the prior week.

Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, "Rock Center with Brian Williams" (0.9/2 in 18-49, 3.7 million viewers overall) delivered its highest 18-49 rating since March 7 (1.0 at 10 p.m.) and its biggest overall audience since February 8 (5.1 million at 9 p.m.). Week to week, "Rock Center" is up 50 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.9 from a 0.6) and up 45 percent or 1.1 million persons in total viewers (3.7 million vs. 2.6 million).

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) matched NBC's highest rating in the Wednesday 10 p.m. ET hour in 11 weeks (since February 8) and delivered the network's biggest overall audience in the slot in 15 weeks (since January 11). Week to week, "SVU" is up 6 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.7 from a 1.6) and up 10 percent in total viewers (6.6 million vs. 6.0 million). This week's "SVU" grew from its first half-hour to its second by 20 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.8 rating from a 1.5), 15 percent in adults 25-54 (2.3 vs. 2.0) and 11 percent in total viewers (6.9 million vs. 6.2 million). "SVU" built on its lead-in by 89 percent in 18-49 rating and 77 percent in total viewers.

On Thursday, April 26 at 8 p.m. ET, "Community" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall) is up week to week by 8 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.4 from a 1.3) and 16 percent in total viewers (3.2 million vs. 2.8 million), in a highly competitive time period versus CBS's "Big Bang Theory," Fox's "American Idol" and ABC's "Missing." Keep in mind that on average this season, original telecasts of "Community" have been adding 38 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 ratings when Nielsen includes additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" results.

Thursday at 8:30 ET, a live telecast of "30 Rock" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall) delivered its top 18-49 and total-viewer results in this time period in six weeks (since March 22). "30 Rock" delivered week-to-week gains for a third straight week, with increases versus the prior week of 7 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.6 from a 1.5) and 13 percent in total viewers (3.472 million vs. 3.063 million). In a competitive time period versus Fox's "American Idol," CBS's "Rules of Engagement" and ABC's "Missing," "30 Rock" is #2 in the slot among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults, men and women 18-34. Note that "30 Rock" originals have been adding 44 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" ratings when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results so far this season.

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, "The Office" delivered a 2.1/6 in 18-49 and 4.2 million viewers overall. In a competitive time period versus ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," CBS's "Person of Interest" and Fox's "Touch," "The Office" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-34, women 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54 and was #1 in men 18-34. "The Office" built on its lead-in by 31 percent in 18-49 rating and 20 percent in total viewers. Note that "The Office" originals have been adding 51 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" ratings when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results so far this season.

Thursday at 9:31 ET, "Parks and Recreation" averaged a 1.6/4 in 18-49 and 3.2 million viewers overall. "Parks" retained 76 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "The Office," up from its 69 percent average in this time period last season. Against the concluding half-hours of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," CBS's "Person of Interest" and Fox's "Touch," "Parks" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-34 and #1 in men 18-34. Keep in mind that on average this season, original telecasts of "Parks and Recreation" have been adding 37 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 ratings when Nielsen includes additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" results.

Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, "Awake" averaged a 0.8/2 in 18-49 and 2.2 million viewers overall. Note that "Awake" is one of the most time-shifted shows on television, with the "live plus same day" rating growing by 60 percent when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" ratings, the #3 biggest increase among primetime series on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox behind only "Fringe" and "Grimm."

Friday, April 27 at 8 p.m. ET, "Who Do You Think You Are?" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall) matched its highest 18-49 rating since March 2 and delivered its biggest overall audience since March 23. Versus its prior original on April 6, "Who Do You Think You Are?" was up 25 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.0 from a 0.8) and up 13 percent in total viewers (5.251 million vs. 4.638 million).

Friday at 9 p.m. ET, "Grimm" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49, tied for #1 in adults 18-34 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW and was #1 outright in men 18-49. "Grimm" matched its 18-49 rating of the prior week and built on this week's lead-in rating by 40 percent. Note that "Grimm" originals have been adding 65 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" ratings when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results, the second-biggest percentage increase among primetime series on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox, behind only Fox's "Fringe."

Friday at 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 4.1 million viewers overall. "Dateline" grew from its first half-hour to its second in most key ratings categories, including gains of 20 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.2 rating from a 1.0), 15 percent in adults 25-54 (1.5 vs. 1.3) and 10 percent in total viewers (4.3 million vs. 3.9 million).

On Saturday, April 28 at 8 p.m. ET, "Escape Routes" averaged a 0.3/1 in 18-49 and 1.1 million viewers overall, to match its 18-49 rating of the prior week and score the top "Escape Routes" total-viewer result since April 7.

Saturday at 9 p.m. ET, "The Firm" averaged a 0.5/1 in 18-49 and 2.1 million viewers overall. This is the highest 18-49 rating for "The Firm" since March 10 and biggest overall audience since March 31. "The Firm" grew week to week by 0.2 of a point in 18-49 rating and 17 percent in total viewers (to 2.1 million from 1.8 million).

Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" delivered a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "SVU" grew by 33 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 0.8 rating from a 0.6), 25 percent in adults 25-54 (1.0 vs. 0.8) and 25 percent in total viewers (3.4 million vs. 2.7 million).

On Sunday, April 29 from 7-8 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "Dateline" grew by 29 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 0.9 rating from a 0.7).

Sunday from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Harry's Law" delivered a 0.8/2 in 18-49 and 7.3 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "Harry's Law" grew in most key ratings categories, including gains of 13 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.9 from a 0.8) and 10 percent in total viewers (7.7 million vs. 7.0 million). Versus NBC's non-sports average in the time period last season, "Harry's Law" was up 54 percent in total viewers (7.332 million vs. 4.756 million).

Sunday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "The Celebrity Apprentice" averaged a 2.0/5 in 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers overall, growing solidly through each of its half-hours and generating this half-hour track: 1.6, 1.9, 2.1, 2.3. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Celebrity Apprentice" grew by 44 percent in 18-49 rating and in total viewers, the increase was 32 percent or 1.8 million persons (to 7.4 million from 5.6 million). "Apprentice" built on NBC's results in the prior hour from 8-9 p.m. by 150 percent in 18-49 rating.

For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, "The Celebrity Apprentice" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 for a fourth week in a row, winning by a 22 percent margin (2.2 vs. 1.8 for ABC's second-place "GCB"). "Apprentice" was also #1 or tied for #1 among those networks from 10-11 p.m. in adults, men and women 25-54; men and women 18-49; and adults and men 18-34.
