"The Voice" Delivers the #1 Results of the Night in Adults 18-49 and Other Key Demos
NBC spins the numbers for Monday, October 1 plus the week of September 24-30.

Monday Results (CW carried NFL coverage in Chicago):

· NBC ranked #1 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, winning six of six half-hours among those networks, with "The Voice" delivering the #1 rating of the night with week-to-week gains and "Revolution" winning among ABC, CBS and NBC in all key demos at 10. For the night, NBC is up 150 percent versus the same night last year (with a 4.0 rating vs. a 1.6) and 149 percent in total viewers (11.014 million vs. 4.417 million).

· From 8-10:01 p.m. ET, "The Voice" (4.5 rating, 11 share in adults 18-49, 12.3 million viewers overall) delivered the #1 results of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and other key demos, winning the time period head to head versus CBS's comedies by 55 percent (with a 4.5 rating vs. a 2.9) and versus ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" by 125 percent (4.5 vs. 2.0). .

· Week to week, "The Voice" is up 2 percent (4.5 vs. 4.4, up 7 percent vs. its 4.2 last week in these prelim fast-affil numbers) and up 1 percent in total viewers (12.320 million vs. 12.183 million)..

· "The Voice" delivered growth throughout its time period, generating this track in 18-49 rating: 3.7, 4.3, 4.8, 5.0, for a gain of 1.3 rating points or 35 percent from the show's first half-hour to its fourth. In total viewers, the increase is 18 percent or 2.0 million persons (13.0 million vs. 11.0 million).

· "The Voice" is up 50 percent versus NBC's 18-49 average in the time period last season (4.5 vs. 3.0) and up 42 percent in total viewers (12.320 million vs. 8.682 million). Versus its averages for the show's final four Monday telecasts last spring, "The Voice" is up 22 percent in 18-49 (4.5 vs. 3.7) and up 21 percent in total viewers (12.320 vs. 10.149 million).

· At 10:01 p.m. ET, "Revolution" (3.2/8 in adults 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall) ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and all other key demographics. "Revolution" retained 94 percent of last week's 3.4 rating (3.5 in these preliminary fast-affiliate rating). "Revolution's" 18-49 margin of victory in the hour is 68 percent versus both "Castle" and "Hawaii Five-0" (1.9 each).

· Note that "Revolution" has started out as a highly time-shifted show, last week adding 1.74 rating points to its L+SD 3.45 in "live plus three day" results (5.19). It's the biggest increase ever from L+SD to L+3 for NBC. ABC's "Modern Family" is the only other series on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox to generate a bigger increase than that 1.74 when going from L+SD to L+3. In L+3, Week 2 of "Revolution" finished within 5 percent of its premiere rating (5.19 vs. 5.45), and that's despite the arrival in Week 2 of time-period competition from the season premieres of "Hawaii Five-0" and "Castle."

· "Revolution" is up 100 percent versus NBC's average in the time period last season in 18-49 rating (3.2 vs. 1.6, L+SD non-sports) and up 65 percent in total viewers (8.402 million vs. 5.106 million).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.5/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.4/6; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.1/7; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.7/3; "Nightline," 0.9/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

For the Week:

· NBC has finished #1 in adults 18-49 for premiere week of the 2012-13 television season, marking the network's first outright victory during premiere week since 2003. Led by "Sunday Night Football," "The Voice" and "Go On," NBC delivered an average 2.9 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49 and 8.2 million viewers overall for the primetime ratings week of September 24-30, according to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

· The 2.9 rating in 18-49 makes this NBC's highest-rated premiere week in four years, since 2008. NBC topped its year-ago premiere-week rating by 12 percent in 18-49 (with a 2.9 rating vs. a 2.6) and was up by 9 percent in total viewers (8.2 million vs. 7.5 million), making NBC the only network among ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox up year to year in either category. NBC was also up versus last year's premiere week in every other key ratings category.

· For the week, NBC is #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, men 25-54, men 18-49, women 18-49 (tie) and men 18-34 (tie). NBC has now finished #1 or tied for #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 for eight of the last 10 weeks.

· NBC's premiere-week schedule included the week's #1 series in 18-49 ("Sunday Night Football"), the week's #1 and #2 unscripted telecasts (the Monday and Tuesday editions of "The Voice"), the #1 new series ("Revolution") and the #2 new comedy ("Go On").

· NBC was up in 18-49 rating versus premiere week last year on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday and tied with the year-ago night on Saturday.

· NBC Sports' Giants-Eagles "Sunday Night Football" coverage delivered the #1 primetime rating of the week on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, total viewers and all key adult-male categories. "Sunday Night Football" has now been #1 in 18-49 and total viewers for four of four weeks so far this NFL season and has delivered more than 21 million viewers with each telecast through week four for the first time in its seven seasons on NBC. In 18-49, top NBC programs for the week included "Sunday Night Football (#1), Monday and Tuesday editions of "The Voice" (tied for #4 and #6 outright), "Revolution" (tied for #13) and "Go On" (#28) (rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows). .

· Primetime averages for the week of September 24-30 in adults 18-49 were: NBC, 2.9/8; Fox, 2.6/8; CBS, 2.4/7; ABC, 2.2/6; and CW, 0.3/1. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 10.7 million; ABC, 8.3 million; NBC, 8.2 million; Fox, 7.0 million; and CW, 0.7 million.
