Special Wednesday "Voice" Delivers a Four-Year In-Season Time-Period High for NBC
NBC spins the numbers for Wednesday, November 7.

Wednesday Results:

NBC wins Wednesday night in 18-49, as "Chicago Fire" hits a series high and a special Wednesday "Voice" delivers a four-year in-season time-period high for NBC.

* From 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Voice" (3.7/10 in 18-49, 10.4 million viewers overall) won its highly competitive time period in adults 18-49 and virtually all other key demographics (including a tie among men 18-34). The special Wednesday telecast of "The Voice" topped ABC's comedy lineup by a 19 percent margin (with a 3.7 rating vs. a 3.1) and also prevailed over CBS's combination of "Survivor" and "Criminal Minds" by 28 percent (3.7 vs. 2.9) and Fox's "X Factor" by 42 percent (3.7 vs. 2.6.). "The Voice" is up 208 percent versus NBC's average in the time period last season in 18-49 rating (3.7 vs. 1.2, L+SD non-sports) and up 124 percent in total viewers (10.408 million vs. 4.652 million).

* This special Wednesday edition of "The Voice" captured NBC's highest in-season 18-49 rating in the time period since January 2, 2008 and biggest overall audience in-season in the time slot since January 23, 2008.

* At 10 p.m. ET, "Chicago Fire" (2.3/6 in adults 18-49, 7.1 million viewers overall) set series records in 18-49 and total viewers with week-to-week jumps of 44 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.3 rating from a 1.6), 40 percent in adults 25-54 (2.8 vs. 2.0) and 26 percent in total viewers (7.085 million vs. 5.622 million). "Chicago Fire" is tied for #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49. Versus last season's NBC average in the time period, "Chicago Fire" is up 44 percent in 18-49 (with a 2.3 rating vs. a 1.6, L+SD non-sports) and 24 percent in total viewers (7.085 vs. 5.726 million).

* "Chicago Fire" is the first new drama on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox this season to beat its premiere results (1.9 in 18-49, 6.614 million viewers overall on Oct. 10) with a subsequent telecast.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Wednesday night (the New York market is excluded from these averages):

* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.0/8; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.9/8; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 2.9/7; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/5.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 1.1/5; "Late Show," 0.8/4; "Nightline," 0.9/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/4.

* At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.6/6 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.5/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.5/3).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 1.0/5 in metered-market households and a 0.5/4 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
