"Parenthood" Ranks #1 in the Hour Over the Drama Competition on ABC and CBS in Adults 18-49 and Other Key Demographics
NBC spins the numbers for Tuesday, January 15.

Tuesday Results:

* At 8 p.m., "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall) finished within a tenth of a rating points of last week's season-premiere rating in the time period in 18-49 (1.5), which matched the highest "Rockers" 8 p.m. result since April 25, 2011. In total viewers, "Off Their Rockers" finished within 4 percent of last week's season-debut audience (5.384 million vs. 5.637 million). "Rockers" is #2 in the slot among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in total viewers.

* At 8:30 p.m., a second telecast of "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) jumped 29 percent above last night's 8 p.m. result in 18-49 rating and grew by 10 percent in total viewers. "Rockers" finished #2 in the 8:30 slot among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49, 25-54 and total viewers.

* The 8:30 "Off Their Rockers" finished within a tenth of a rating points of last week's season-premiere rating in the time period in 18-49 (1.9), which tied the second-highest "Rockers" rating ever. And note that last week, "Rockers" also reported a 1.8 at 8:30 in these preliminary fast-affiliate ratings. In total viewers, "Off Their Rockers" finished within 4 percent of last week's season-debut result (5.924 million vs. 6.149 million).

* At 9 p.m. ET "Go On" (1.7/4 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall) jumped week to week by 13 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.7 from a 1.5). "Go On" ranked #2 in the half-hour among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in total viewers and adults 25-54.

* This week's "Go On" retained 94 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "Off Their Rockers," up from last week's 79 percent.

* At 9:30 p.m. ET, "The New Normal" (1.3/3 in 18-49, 3.2 million in total viewers) matched last week's 18-49 rating and is currently up in total viewers (3.235 million vs. 3.227 million). "New Normal" finished #2 in the time slot among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in total viewers and all key adult-female demos.

* From 10-11 p.m. ET, "Parenthood" (1.9/5 in 18-49, 5.0 million in total viewers) ranked #1 in the hour over the drama competition on ABC and CBS in adults 18-49 and other key demographics, making this the sixth straight "Parenthood" to out-rate the ABC and CBS drama competition in the slot in 18-49.

* From its first half-hour to its second, "Parenthood" grew by 5 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.0 rating from a 1.9), 4 percent in adults 25-54 (2.4 vs. 2.3) and 4 percent in total viewers (5.1 million vs. 4.9 million). In the 10:30 lead-in to local news, "Parenthood" delivered a 4 percent margin of victory in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (with a 2.4 rating vs. a 2.3 for CBS's second-place "Vegas"), after trailing from 10-10:30 by 15 percent (2.3 vs. 2.7 for "Vegas").

* Keep in mind that last season, "Parenthood" originals added an average of 47 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" ratings in 18-49 when Nielsen reported "live plus seven day" results.

* NBC is # 2 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key categories.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday night:

* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.6/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.6/7; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.0/5. Versus the prior Tuesday, "Tonight" is up 8 percent (2.6 vs. 2.4), "Late Show" is down 4 percent (2.6 vs. 2.7) and "Kimmel" is down 29 percent (2.0 vs. 2.8).

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/4.

* From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters. Versus the prior Tuesday, "Nightline" was down 33 percent in metered-market households (1.2 vs. 1.8).

* Tuesday season averages prior to ABC's January 8 schedule change were: in metered-market households, "Tonight," 2.7 rating, 7 share; "Late Show," 2.6/7; "Nightline," 3.1/8; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/5. In the Local People Meters, 18-49 season averages were: "Tonight," 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.6/3; "Nightline," 1.0/4; "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3. Versus the prior Tuesday, Jimmy Fallon was up 17 percent in metered-market households (1.4 vs. 1.2) and "Late Late Show" was flat (1.2 vs. 1.2).

* From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters. Versus the prior Tuesday, Carson Daly was up 14 percent in metered-market households (0.8 vs. 0.7).
