LIFETIME ORIGINAL MOVIE PROSECUTING CASEY ANTHONY, STARRING ROB LOWE, RANKS AS SATURDAY NIGHT'S NUMBER ONE TELECAST ACROSS AD-SUPPORTED CABLE WITH TOTAL VIEWERS, ADULTS 18+, WOMEN 18+, WOMEN 25-54 AND WOMEN 18-49

3.3 Million Total Viewers Witness Movie's World Premiere

LOS ANGELES, CA (January 23, 2013) - The Lifetime Original Movie Prosecuting Casey Anthony, starring Golden Globe(R) and Emmy(R) Award nominee Rob Lowe, generated strong viewership in its world premiere Saturday night, ranking as the evening's number one telecast across ad-supported cable among Total Viewers, Adults 18+, Women 18+, Women 25-54 and Women 18-49, according to Nielsen Research. The film, the first to chronicle the controversial Caylee Anthony murder trial, averaged 3.3 million Total Viewers, 3.0 million Adults 18+ viewers, 2.2 million Women 18+ viewers, 1.5 million Adults 25-54 viewers, 1.3 million Adults 18-49 viewers, 1.1 million Women 25-54 viewers and 921,000 Women 18-49 viewers, with a 2.5 Household rating. Throughout its telecast, Prosecuting Casey Anthony grew in viewership across all of the key demographics, jumping +21% from the first half-hour to the final 30 minutes in Adults 25-54, +20% among Women 25-54, +17% in Adults 18-49, +14% with Women 18-49, +10% with Adults 18+, +9% among Total Viewers and +5% in Women 18+.

Lowe stars in the film as Florida prosecutor Jeff Ashton, the Florida prosecutor and author (with Lisa Pulitzer) of the book Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony, upon which the movie is based.

Immediately following the movie, the hour-long documentary Beyond the Headlines: Prosecuting Casey Anthony averaged 2.4 million Total Viewers, 1.2 million Adults 25-54 viewers, 1.1 million Adults 18-49 viewers, 854,000 Women 25-54 viewers, 786,000 Women 18-49 viewers and a 1.9 Household rating.

Prosecuting Casey Anthony's strong performance furthers Lifetime's ratings growth. On January 1, the season three premiere of its hit docusoap Dance Moms hit a series high 2.8 million Total Viewers, posting double digit jumps across all key demographics versus its Summer 2012 season premiere. In 2012, Lifetime generated its strongest year-on-year growth among the key demographics in 10+ years.

Prosecuting Casey Anthony reveals Ashton's own inside story of the notorious true crime drama that captivated and then shocked the world when Caylee Anthony's mother, Casey, was acquitted of killing her daughter, despite what many thought to be overwhelming evidence of guilt. But much of that "evidence" had nothing to do with direct proof of guilt, but rather her perceived erratic behavior in the weeks between the disappearance of Caylee and Casey's mother's call to the police reporting that her two year-old granddaughter was missing. The movie is uniquely seen from Ashton's first-hand perspective and takes viewers behind the scenes of both his aggressive investigation into Caylee's tragic death and the ensuing widely-covered trial, shedding new light on the many questions of what happened to her, how Ashton and his fellow prosecutors built and believed in their case, and why a woman so shrouded in suspicion was proclaimed innocent. Also starring in the movie are Elizabeth Mitchell, who portrays lead prosecutor Linda Burdick; Oscar Nunez as Casey Anthony's attorney Jose Baez; Marisa Ramirez plays Ashton's wife Rita; Kevin Dunn as George Anthony and Virginia Welch is Casey Anthony.

Prosecuting Casey Anthony was executive produced by Jean Abounader, Michelle Manning, Rob Lowe and Alison Cross. Peter Werner directed the screenplay by Alison Cross. Jeff Ashton served as a consultant on the film, which was produced by Fox Television Studios. Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony is published by HarperCollins.
