Encore of "SVU" Matches Its Highest 18-49 Rating on Thursdays So Far This Season
NBC spins the numbers for Thursday, March 21.

Thursday Results:

* From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall) grew versus last week's rebroadcast in this time period by 22 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 0.9) and 12 percent in total viewers (4.216 million vs. 3.770 million). From its first half-hour to its second, the "SVU" encore grew by 20 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.2 from a 1.0), 25 percent in adults 25-54 (1.5 vs. 1.2) and 22 percent in total viewers (to 4.6 million persons from 3.8 million). "SVU" grew half-hour to half-hour in all other key ratings categories.

* "SVU" matched its highest 18-49 rating among six encores aired in this time period so far this season and hit a high among those six rebroadcasts in total viewers.

* At 8 p.m. ET, "Community" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 3.0 million viewers overall) is currently equaling last week's 18-49 rating in official nationals and is up 10 percent versus the show's 1.0 last week in these preliminary fast-affiliate ratings. In a highly competitive time period opposite CBS's NCAA Basketball, Fox's "American Idol" and ABC's "Wife Swap," "Community" is up versus last week by 17 percent in total viewers (3.025 million vs. 2.582 million in official nationals).

* From 8:30-9 p.m. ET, "1600 Penn" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 2.5 million viewers overall) retained 82 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "Community."

* From 9-9:31 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Office" averaged a 0.9/2 in 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers overall.

* From 9:31-10:01 p.m. ET, "1600 Penn" (0.8/2 in 18-49, 2.3 million viewers overall) retained 89 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from the 9 p.m. "Office" encore, up from last week's 53 percent retention of an original "Office" lead-in (1.0 vs. 1.9).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday night:

* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.8/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 1.2/4 with an encore delayed by basketball; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.7/7.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 Wednesday results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.3/2 with an encore delayed by basketball; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.1/5.

* From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET Wednesday night, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.6/5 in metered-market households and a 0.7/4 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

* From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.3/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (0.7/3 with an encore delayed by basketball). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2 with an encore delayed by basketball).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
