Spring Debut of "The Voice" Grows 12% Versus Its Rating for the Prior Premiere
NBC spins the numbers for Monday, March 25.

Monday Results:

NBC was a dominant #1 Monday night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 with the #1 show of the night on those networks, "The Voice," and the #1 drama on those networks, "Revolution."

* From 8-10:01 p.m. ET, the spring debut of "The Voice" (4.7 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49, 13.4 million viewers overall) grew 12 percent versus its 4.2 rating for the prior premiere on September 10, 2012. In total viewers, "The Voice" is up 9 percent versus that prior debut (13.362 million vs. 12.285 million)

* In a highly competitive time period versus ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," CBS's comedies and Fox's "Bones" and "The Following," last night's "The Voice" debut is #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and every other key demographic. In 18-49, "The Voice" topped "Dancing" by a 104 percent margin (4.7 vs. 2.3), out-rated CBS's 8-10 p.m. comedy block by 88 percent (4.7 vs. 2.5) and beat Fox's dramas by 124 percent (4.7 vs. 2.1).

* "The Voice" built steadily throughout its two hours, with this half-hour track in 18-49: 4.0, 4.5, 4.9, 5.2 From its first half-hour to its fourth, "The Voice" grew by 30 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 5.2 from a 4.0) and 22 percent or more than 2.6 million persons in total viewers (14.5 million vs. 11.8 million).

* From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, the mid-season return of "Revolution" (2.7/7 in adults 18-49, 7.2 million viewers overall) ranks #1 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in 18-49 and most other key demographics and is the #1 drama of the night on those networks in 18-49.

* Returning to the NBC schedule after a four-month break, "Revolution" is matching the average of its prior three original telecast last November in 18-49 (2.7 vs. 2.7). "Revolution" is up 69 percent versus NBC's average in the time period last season in 18-49 rating (2.7 vs. 1.6, L+SD non-sports) and up 42 percent in total viewers (7.249 million vs. 5.106 million).

* Note that "Revolution" has established itself as a highly time-shifted show, growing by an average of 62 percent in the fourth quarter when going from its "live plus same day" rating (3.10) to "live plus seven days" (5.03).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday night:

* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.8/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.2/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.2/6.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 Wednesday results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

* From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET Wednesday night, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

* From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

For the Week:

* For the week of March 18-24, NBC averaged a 1.2 rating, 3 share in adults 18-49 and 4.2 million viewers overall, according to "live plus same day" viewing data from Nielsen Media Research.

* NBC's top show last week was the season finale of "The Biggest Loser," which averaged a 2.7 rating, to jump 23% versus the show's year-ago finale in 18-49 and top the prior week's result by 35%.
