"Once Upon a Time" Is Sunday's #1 Drama/"Revenge" Returns Up 13% Over Its Last Original in March

Gaining 15% week to week, ABC's America's Funniest Home Videos tied for the Adult 18-49 lead during the 7 o'clock hour. The show earned a 6-week high in young adults - since 3/17/13.

Building 33% on its Adult 18-49 lead-in at 8pm, ABC's Once Upon a Time surged to rank as the #1 drama on Sunday night. Once Upon a Time paced within 1-tenth of a rating point week to week. The ABC sophomore drama was the #1 most social broadcast series on Sunday night.

Returning to original for the first time since March (since 3/31/13), ABC's Revenge came back with a 13% increase in Adults 18-49 from its last first-run airing to stand as the #2 broadcast drama of the night. During the 9pm hour, Revenge beat out CBS' season finale of The Good Wife and the first hour of NBC's Celebrity Apprentice in Adults 18-49, while winning its slot among key Women (W18-49/W25-54).

Gaining 15% week to week, ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" tied for the Adult 18-49 (1.5/5) lead during the 7 o'clock hour. "AFHV" delivered a 6-week high in young adults - since 3/17/13.

"Once Upon a Time" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

Building 33% on its Adult 18-49 lead-in at 8:00 p.m., ABC's "Once Upon a Time" surged to rank as the top-rated drama on Sunday night. "Once Upon a Time" paced within 1-tenth of a rating point week to week. The ABC sophomore drama was the No. 1 most social broadcast series on Sunday night (27,000 tweets).

"Revenge" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

Returning to original for the first time since March (since 3/31/13), ABC's "Revenge" came back with a 13% increase in Adults 18-49 (1.7/4 vs. 1.5/3) from its last first-run airing to stand as the No. 2 broadcast drama of the night. During the 9 o'clock hour, "Revenge" (1.7/4) beat out CBS' season finale of "The Good Wife" (1.6/4) and the first hour of NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" (1.5/4) in Adults 18-49, while winning its slot among key Women (W18-49/W25-54).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 48% currently, from 44% at the same point in 2011. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
