"48 HOURS: SECRETS OF THE RIVER" IS SATURDAY'S #1 SHOW IN ADULTS 25-54, VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS

"48 HOURS" POSTS ITS BEST DELIVERY IN ADULTS 25-54 - THE DEMOGRAPHIC THAT MATTERS MOST TO THOSE WHO ADVERTISE IN NEWS - SINCE JANUARY 2012

"48 HOURS" POSTS ITS BEST VIEWERS DELIVERY SINCE MAY 2012

CBS News' 48 HOURS: "Secrets of the River" (R) was Saturday's #1 program in adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news, as well as viewers and households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for June 8, 2013.

48 HOURS posted its best delivery in adults 25-54 ratings since Jan. 28, 2012, its best viewers delivery since May 5, 2012 and its best deliveries in households and adults 18-49 since April 13, 2013.

48 HOURS: "Secrets of the River" (10:00-11:00 PM) posted a 4.3/08 with 6.38m and a 1.9/06 with adults 25-54. Compared to the same night last year, 48 HOURS was up +58% in adults 25-54, up +50% in adults 18-49 and up +26% in households.

"Secrets of the River" featured Peter Van Sant's report on the murder of Mackenzie Cowell, an aspiring model and beauty school student, who in February 2010 disappeared and was found dead four days later alongside the Columbia River. An investigation by an unprecedented task force of FBI, state police and local authorities eventually led to Cowell's beauty school classmate, Chris Wilson. Wilson was charged with murder and hired high-profile attorney John Henry Browne, who is currently representing Sgt. Robert Bales through his guilty plea of murdering civilians in Afghanistan. Wilson agreed to a plea bargain, but a year later attempted to withdraw the plea, saying he didn't understand the consequences. Just hours before this broadcast, a judge rejected the request.

48 HOURS: "Secrets of the River" is produced by James Stolz, Stephen McCain and Deanna DiMuro. Gregory McLaughlin is the producer-editor. Michael Vele and Maria Barrow are the editors. Kate Harrington is the update producer. Suzanne Allen is the senior coordinating producer. Anthony Batson is the senior broadcast producer. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.

48 HOURS: "Secrets of the River" was part of a 48 HOURS double feature. The first, 48 HOURS: "A Fatal Attraction" (R) (9:00-10:00 PM) was first in households (3.2/06) and viewers (4.65m). Compared to the same night last year (CRIMETIME SATURDAY "CSI: MIAMI" (R)), 48 HOURS was up +71% in adults 25-54, up +60% in adults 18-49 and up +39% in households. Richard Schlesinger is the correspondent for 48 HOURS: "A Fatal Attraction." The broadcast is produced by Ira Sutow, Sue McHugh and Avi Cohen. Maria Barrow and David Franklin are the editors.
