"48 HOURS: THE HUNT FOR MR. WRIGHT" ENCORE WAS SATURDAY'S #1 PROGRAM IN VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS

CBS News' 48 HOURS: "The Hunt for Mr. Wright" (R) was Saturday's #1 program in both households and viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for June 29, 2013.

In the 10:00 PM hour, 48 HOURS was first in adults 25-54 (1.2/04) - the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news - viewers (4.17m), households (2.9/05), and tied for first in adults 18-49 (0.8/03, with FOX).

Saturday's broadcast featured an encore of Susan Spencer and 48 HOURS' updated investigation into the murder of a World War II hero Walter Patterson and the global chase for his killer, George Wright. It's a story of a multi-agency manhunt that spans five decades, three continents, and includes an airplane hijacking, a $1 million ransom and an FBI agent standing on the tarmac at the Miami International Airport wearing nothing but a swimsuit.

Wright and another man were convicted for the 1962 murder of Patterson, who was beaten and shot during a robbery at his New Jersey gas station. But eight years later, Wright busted out of jail. Two years after that, Wright dressed up as a priest and hid a gun in a Bible to join others as part of an airplane hijacking. The group got a $1 million ransom, and Wright was on the run for four decades until he was found living in another country. So far, authorities have been unable to capture him.

48 HOURS: "The Hunt for Mr. Wright" is produced by Joshua Yager, Mead Stone and Jonathan Leach. Grace Arlotta-Berner and Jud Johnston and Mead Stone are the editors. Kate Harrington is the update producer. Suzanne Allen is the senior coordinating producer. Peter Schweitzer is the senior producer. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
