"Shark After Dark" Beats All Cable Talk Competitiors for Second Consecutive Night

"SHARK AFTER DARK" BEATS ALL CABLE TALK COMPETITIORS FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE NIGHT

Discovery Channel's late night live talk show during SHARK WEEK, Shark After Dark, hosted by comedian Josh Wolf at 11PM, , delivered 1,186,000 P2+ total viewers on Tuesday, August 6. This telecast beat TBS' Conan, Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report, BRAVO's Watch What Happens Live, and E!'s Chelsea Lately in total viewers P2+. Additionally, Shark After Dark also beat the above mentioned programs in the Persons, Men and Women 25-54/18-49 demos on Tuesday. This is the second consecutive night Shark After Dark beat the above listed programs in total viewers.

Discovery Channel was also the #1 cable network during primetime among Persons and Men 25-54 and Persons, Men and Women 18-49 delivery, no exclusions, on Tuesday. Discovery also ranked as the #2 network in All of Television among Men 25-54/18-49 delivery on Tuesday evening during Prime Time, second only to NBC's America's Got Talent, no exclusions, beating all offerings on ABC, CBS and FOX.

Tuesday's Spawn of Jaws and I Escaped Jaws were the #1 and #2 cable programs on Tuesday night, respectively, among Persons 18-49. On Tuesday night at 9PM, I Escaped Jaws earned a 1.88 HH / 1.50 P25-54 / 1.58 P18-49 AA% and delivered an average of 2.71 million total viewers P2+. Spawn of Jaws at 10 PM earned a 1.95 HH / 1.52 P25-54 / 1.58 P18-49 AA% and delivered an average of 2.77 million total viewers P2+.

With more than two million Tweets since Sunday, the 26th annual SHARK WEEK is the most social ever - already generating 25% more Twitter buzz than last year less than four days in, and there have been more than seven million fin-spired interactions on Facebook. Each SHARK WEEK premiere has trended on Twitter and #SharkWeek has been used more than 630,000 times on the platform since August 4. Moreover, according to SocialGuide, every 2013 primetime installment to date has ranked in the top 10 across all cable and broadcast programming.

Shark After Dark guests on Wednesday, August 7 will include David Hasslehoff and Alison Sweeney. SHARK WEEK continues with new specials on Wednesday night with Top Ten Sharkdown at 9PM and Great White Serial Killer at 10PM.
