Live + 7 Day Ratings: ABC's "Grey's" Is the Week's Biggest Gainer/"Nashville" Doubles in L+7/"Scandal" Delivers Another New High in Playback

Live + 7 Day Ratings for the week of 10/28/13 (Week #6):

Based on Nielsen's TV playback data among Adults 18-49, ABC was the week's biggest percentage gainer for the 3rd straight week among the major networks, catapulting 32% over its Live + Same Day number among Adults 18-49 to a 2.5 rating to tie Fox in the final Live + 7 numbers (initially in the Live + SD ratings, ABC delivered a 1.9 rating among Adults 18-49 for the week, finishing 4-tenths of a rating point behind Fox).

ABC's Grey's Anatomy stood as the week's biggest broadcast gainer among Adults 18-49 (with with NBC's The Blacklist), picking up another +2.0 rating points in the final L+7 data. ABC delivered 3 of the week's Top 5 biggest broadcast gainers among young adults and, for the 5th consecutive week, claimed the most Top 10 playback gainers of any broadcast network: Grey's Anatomy (+2.0 rating points) - #1, Scandal (+1.7 rating points) - #3, Nashville (+1.4 rating points) - #4 and Castle (+1.2 rating points) and Once Upon a Time (+1.2 rating points) tied for #8. In addition, among Adults 18-49, Scandal and Nashville were 2 of the week's 3 biggest 10pm series gainers.

Posting its biggest lift yet this season and standing as the week's biggest percentage gainer among Adults 18-49, ABC's Nashville doubled its Live+SD number (+100%) to deliver a 2.8 rating in the final L+7 ratings.

ABC's Scandal continued to deliver new highs in TV playback each week among Adults 18-49, scoring the show's largest-ever increase in L+7 this week with a build of +1.7 rating points (+59%).

In the final Live + 7 Day ratings, Grey's Anatomy (4.6 rating) and Scandal (4.6) finished among the week's Top 5 highest-rated broadcast programs among Adults 18-49 (from #12 and #9, respectively, in the L+SD numbers). In addition, Nashville (2.8) moved into a tie with CBS' CSI (2.8) in Wednesday's 10pm hour, after finishing 3-tenths behind in the L+SD ratings.

ABC saw 6 of its 7 dramas gain at least +2.5 million viewers this week over their initially reported totals via TV Playback: Castle (+4.2 million), Grey's Anatomy (+4.1 million - season-high build), Scandal (+3.9 million), Nashville (+3.3 million - 2nd-largest-ever build), Once Upon a Time (+2.7 million - season-high build) and Revenge (+2.5 million).

Based on TV playback data for the 2013-14 season, ABC claims 4 of the Top 10 biggest gainers among Adults 18-49 on the broadcast networks (the most for any network): Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+1.9 rating points), Modern Family (+1.9 rating points), Grey's Anatomy (+1.8 rating points) and Scandal (+1.5 rating points).

Nearly all of ABC's key returning series are seeing bigger percentage gains among Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 this year than last: Castle (57% vs. 43%), DWTS (19% vs. 18%), Grey's (60% vs. 50%), Modern Family (48% vs. 44%), Nashville (71% vs. 57%), The Neighbors (30% vs. 15%), Once Upon a Time (50% vs. 41%), Revenge (56% vs. 43%), Scandal (47% vs. 40%) and Shark Tank (37% vs. 22%).

· S.H.I.E.L.D ranks as the season's #1 new show and #1 broadcast drama in the key young adult demo (5.2 rating-tied with NBC's The Blacklist), based on original telecasts. The new ABC drama is also Tuesday's #1 TV show this season with Adults 18-49, beating NBC's The Voice by 8% (5.2 vs. 4.8).

· ABC's Modern Family is the season's #2 scripted series among Adults 18-49 on the broadcast networks (5.9 rating).
