ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" Hits a Season-High and "Revenge" Returns Up 20% to a 13-Week High

America's Funniest Home Videos (7-8pm - 6.8 million and 1.6/4 in AD18-49): In the 7 o'clock hour, opposite Fox's huge San Francisco-Green Bay NFL playoffs overrun, ABC's America's Funniest Home Videos (1.6/4) was the #1 non-sports program in its hour in Adults 18-49, beating CBS' 60 Minutes (1.2/3) and NBC's Dateline (1.0/2). AFHV was up 14% from its last original to deliver a new season-high in Adults 18-49 and surged 33% in Adults 18-34 to its best number in nearly 1 year - since 2/10/13.

The Bachelor: Countdown to Juan Pablo (8-9pm - 6.3 million and 1.8/4 in AD18-49): At 8pm, ABC's lead-up special to tonight's season premiere, The Bachelor: Countdown to Juan Pablo built on its Adult 18-49 lead-in by 13% to earn second in its hour to Fox's NFL-fueled animated comedies. ABC's The Bachelor special was Sunday's most social non-sports program with 153k tweets.

Revenge (9-10pm - 6.7 million and 1.8/4 in AD18-49): During the 9 o'clock hour , ABC's Revenge returned up from its last telecast by 8% in viewers and by 20% in Adults 18-49 to post 13-week highs on both measures - since 10/6/13. In addition, the ABC drama equaled a best-since-premiere number in Adults 18-34.

Betrayal (10-11pm - 3.4 million and 0.8/2 in AD18-49): In the 10pm hour, ABC's Betrayal held steady with its last broadcast 3 weeks ago among young adults (AD18-34/AD18-49).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 49% currently, from 47% at the same point in 2013. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
