L+3 UPDATE: "TONIGHT SHOW" AND "LATE NIGHT" DELIVER STRONG RESULTS FOR THE FEB. 24-28 WEEK

Time-Shifted Viewing in Prelim 'Live Plus Three Day' Results Gives 'Tonight' Its Biggest Audience, Excluding Leno's Last Week and Fallon's First, in Four Years, and the Second-Biggest 'Late Night' Audience in Nine Years

Fallon Delivers the Second-Youngest Median Age for Any Week This Season of 'Late Show,' 'Kimmel' or 'Tonight,' While Meyers Attracts the Youngest Audience for Any 11:35 p.m. or 12:35 a.m. Talk Show on the Broadcast Nets This Season

NEW YORK - March 6, 2014 - The addition of time-shifted viewers has lifted the Feb. 24-28 week of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to the biggest "Tonight Show" week in total viewers, excluding Jay Leno's final week and Fallon's premiere week, in more than four years.

At 12:35 a.m. ET, the premiere week of "Late Night with Seth Meyers" grew with time-shifted viewing to the second most-watched "Late Night" week in more than nine years.

In preliminary time period-based affiliate "live plus three day" results, week two of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" - the first to air on non-Olympic nights - averaged a 2.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 6.404 million viewers overall. It was "Tonight's" biggest weeklong audience in "live plus three day" results, excluding the final Leno week and first Fallon week, since June 1-4, 2009 (6.490 million for Conan O'Brien's premiere week).

"Late Night with Seth Meyers" averaged a 1.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.011 million viewers overall in these preliminary time period-based affiliate L+3 results. It was the second most-watched "Late Night" week, behind Fallon's final week, since before the era of DVR time-shifting, back to May 3-7, 2004 (the week of the "Friends" finale, 3.080 million).

Fallon delivered the second-youngest audience for any week this season of "Tonight," "Late Show with David Letterman" or "Jimmy Kimmel Live," slightly behind Fallon's premiere week. Meyers generated the youngest audience for a week of any 11:35 p.m. or 12:35 a.m. ET talk show on the broadcast networks so far this season, according to the week's "live plus same day" results.

Last week's "Tonight Show" median age was 52.7, virtually matching the 52.6 of the prior week that ranks as youngest this season for "Tonight," "Late Night" or "Kimmel." Meyers debuted with a median age of 49.8., the youngest median age for "Late Night" since the week of Sept. 5-9, 2011 (48.7). Additional median ages for last week are "Late Show," 59.2; "Kimmel," 56.2; "Nightline," 55.9; and "Late Late Show," 55.7.

At 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" (0.4/3 in 18-49, 1.2 million viewers overall) tied the 18-49 rating of CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and ABC's "Nightline" (0.4 each) and finished within a tenth of a point of CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" (0.5), despite "Last Call's" later start time.
