Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Pulls Back in Front Among Demos

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/8/14):

NBC (8.077 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) pulled back in front on Tuesday with its mix of "The Voice" (10.834 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.8, #1), "About a Boy" (7.143 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.8, #5), "Growing Up Fisher" (5.624 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.5, #7) and "Chicago Fire" (7.014 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.9, #4).

CBS (13.190 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #2) then was a close second place with new episodes of "NCIS" (17.184 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #2), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (14.365 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.3, #3) and a repeat "Person of Interest" (8.022 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #9).

Next up was ABC (3.404 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) with originals from "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (4.907 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.7, #6), "The Goldbergs" (4.301 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #8), "Trophy Wife" (2.548 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #13) plus a repeat of "Resurrection" (1.881 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #14).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.553 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) served up fresh installments of "Glee" (2.794 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T11), "The Mindy Project" (2.267 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T11) and another "The Mindy Project" (2.358 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10).

And finally, repeats of "The Originals" (0.737 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) and "The 100" (0.764 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #16) on The CW (0.750 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Originals" delivered a 0.2 rating while "100" posted a 0.1 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "Tonight," 1.2/6; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/1 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.7/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/9/13):

NBC (6.882 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) held onto the top spot on Tuesday thanks to a new "The Voice" (12.952 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 4.2, #1) followed by the two-hour series premiere of "Ready for Love" (3.847 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.6, #7).

CBS (12.834 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2) then was a competitive second place with originals from "NCIS" (16.671 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #T2), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (13.939 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.6, #T2) and "Golden Boy" (7.893 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T8).

Next up was FOX (3.956 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #3) with fresh installments of "Hell's Kitchen" (4.395 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.8, #6), "New Girl" (4.218 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.2, #4) and "The Mindy Project" (2.816 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T8).

Meanwhile, ABC (8.681 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4) offered up its mix of "Splash" (5.116 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #11), "Dancing with the Stars" (11.815 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #5) and "Body of Proof" (9.063 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #10).

And finally, the return of "Hart of Dixie" (1.239 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #12) plus a repeat of "America's Next Top Model" (0.673 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #13) closed out the evening on The CW (0.956 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5).
