"Nightline" Posts Double-Digit Year-to-Year Increases in Total Viewers

Season to Date "Nightline" Leads CBS' "The Late Late Show" in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49

ABC News' "Nightline" drew 1.629 million Total Viewers, 653,000 Adults 25-54 and 478,000 Adults 18-49 for the week of March 31, 2014, according to Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" ranked No. 1 for the week in Total Viewers, outdelivering NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.627 million) for the first time and CBS' "Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.420 million).

"Nightline" aired the No. 1 telecast of the week in Total Viewers with its Wednesday airing (1.940 million on4/2/14) versus the week's telecasts of CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers." Further, "Nightline" beat NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" three times during the course of the week in Total Viewers: Wednesday (+120,000 - 1.940 million vs. 1.820 million), Thursday (+154,000 - 1.748 million vs. 1.594 million) and Friday (+131,000 - 1.535 million vs. 1.404 million).

In addition, "Nightline" edged out NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" on Friday by 1,000 Adults 25-54 viewers (730,000 vs. 729,000), claiming its first-ever Adults 25-54 victory over the NBC program.

For the 6th week running, "Nightline" improved on its Total Viewer performance on the year-ago week (+12%) - 1.459 million on w/o 4/1/13. In fact, "Nightline" has built on its overall audience year to year in 8 of the last 9 weeks.

Season to date, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" across the board: Total Viewers (+217,000), Adults 25-54 (+67,000) and Adults 18-49 (+30,000).

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Dan Harris, Dan Abrams, and Juju Chang. Almin Karamehmedovic is executive producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:00 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Together with "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Nightline" is part of ABC's winning late night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
