YAHOO! "MOUNTAIN MONSTERS" GOES IN SEARCH OF THE YAHOO, TRACKS DOWN DESTINATION AMERICA'S BEST TELECAST EVER

-- The episode premiere led Destination America to rank #1 in its timeslot (10-11p) in all ad-supported cable for M25-54/18-49 --

(Silver Spring, MD) - Destination America's hit series MOUNTAIN MONSTERS produced big ratings on Friday, April 18 at 10pm, nabbing the network's best telecast ever for delivery and leading it to rank #1 in its timeslot (10-11p) in all ad-supported cable for M25-54 (0.82) and M18-49 (0.76). The episode premiere of MOUNTAIN MONSTERS ranks as the best telecast ever among P2+ (792k), HH (532k), M25-54 (245k), P18-49 (335k), and M18-49 (239k) and the third-best telecast ever for P25-54 (343k).

Friday's premiere also garnered Destination America's best night ever in Prime for HH (384k) and M18-49 (158k) and its third-best night for P2+ (517k) and M25-54 (157k) delivery. It was also the network's best day ever in Total Day (6a-6a) for HH (193k), second-best day ever for P25-54 (118k) and third-best day ever for P18-49 (113k) delivery.

MOUNTAIN MONSTERS follows a team of expert hunters and trappers as they defend their mountain brethren from mysterious monsters that have spawned countless sightings in the Appalachian wilderness for generations. This past Friday, the Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings (AIMS) investigated West Virginia's own Bigfoot, known as the Yahoo. This eight-foot tall, 1,000-pound creature is a cousin to the Sasquatch but is distinguished by its ultra-aggressive nature and unique vocalizations.

Following each episode, Destination America indulges viewers' monster cravings with its Mountain Monsters: Behind the Hunt after show, which continues to be a top performer on DestinationAmerica.com, consistently ranking as one of the top-viewed video clips on the site. The web series has received more than 25,000 streams since premiering.

On the next new episode of MOUNTAIN MONSTERS, premiering this Friday, April 25 at 10/9c, AIMS heads to central West Virginia to investigate the legendary Webster Werewolf. Born out of a 1770s massacre of local Shawnee Indians in present-day Webster County, this nocturnal predator resembles a huge northern wolf but is three times the size and has the ability to walk upright on two feet. AIMS locates an old Shawnee hunting trail and constructs a 2,000-pound rock fall trap. And while Trapper deals with a toothache the Appalachian way, his expert crew works to unravel centuries of myth surrounding this creature's existence before the full moon passes.

MOUNTAIN MONSTERS is produced for Destination America by American Chainsaws with Colt Straub, Duke Straub, Royal Malloy, Russell Geyser and Jay Bluemke as executive producers. For Destination America, Caroline Perez is executive producer, Marc Etkind is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is Group President of Investigation Discovery, Destination America, American Heroes Channel, and Discovery Fit & Health.
