ABC's "Kimmel" Grows to a 7-Month High in Adults 18-49 / Ranks #1 on Thursday in Late-Night

Some early points on Jimmy Kimmel Live's numbers, ahead of the regular press release:

During the week of 6/2/14, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live delivered its best performance among Adults 18-49 (977,000) since mid-November and drew its biggest overall audience (2.763 million) in 5 weeks - since w/o 11/18/13 and 4/28/14, respectively. In addition, Kimmel posted double-digit gains over the same week last year in both Total Viewers (+20%) and Adults 18-49 (+16%).

· ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live ranked as the week's #2 talk show in late-night on broadcast and cable among Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.

· Thursday's broadcast of Kimmel (on 6/5/14) was the night's #1 telecast in late-night among Adults 18-49 (1.482 million), dominating runner-up NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon by 21% (1.226 million).

"Nightline" is the No. 1 Show in its Slot in Viewers in 8 of the Last 10 Weeks And Posts Double-Digit Week-to-Week and Year-to-Year Increases

ABC Late-Night (Monday - Friday)

With its late-night lineup of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" at 11:35 p.m. and "Nightline" at 12:35 a.m. during the week of June 2, 2014, ABC shot up week to week by 46% in Adults 18-49 (852,000) to a near 7-month high - since w/o 11/18/13. In fact, this week marked ABC's 3rd-strongest in late-night this season in Adults 18-49. In addition, the Net grew over the prior week by 22% in Total Viewers, drawing its largest overall audience (2.409 million) since April - since w/o 4/28/14.

ABC saw double-digit increases over the year-ago week (2.027 million and 737,000 on w/o 6/3/13) in Total Viewers (+19%) and Adults 18-49 (+16%). In fact, ABC grew its overall audience in late-night year over year for the 7th straight week.

· For the 3rd week in a row and for 7th time in 8 weeks, ABC was the most-watched network in late-night (2.409 million), outdrawing NBC by 12% (2.158 million) and CBS by 29% (1.867 million).

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" (M-F 11:35 p.m.)

During the week of 6/2/14, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" delivered its best performance among Adults 18-49 (977,000) since mid-November and drew its biggest overall audience (2.763 million) in 5 weeks - since w/o 11/18/13 and w/o 4/28/14, respectively. In addition, "Kimmel" posted double-digit gains over the same week last year (2.299 million and 842,000 on w/o 6/3/13) in both Total Viewers (+20%) and Adults 18-49 (+16%).

· ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" ranked as the week's No. 2 talk show in late-night on broadcast and cable among Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.

· Thursday's broadcast of "Kimmel" (on 6/5/14) was the night's No. 1 telecast in late-night among Adults 18-49 (1.482 million), dominating an original telecast of NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" for the first time ever (+21% - 1.226 million).

"Nightline" (M-F 12:35 a.m.)

For the 3rd consecutive week, ABC News' "Nightline" won the week in Total Viewers (1.718 million) for the week of June 2, 2014, according to Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" beat NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" by 163,000 Total Viewers and CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" by 439,000 Total Viewers. Further, the ABC program has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers 8 of the last 10 weeks.

"Nightline" outperformed CBS' "The Late Late Show" by its largest margin ever in Adults 25-54 (+297,000) and 2nd-largest ever in Adults 18-49 (+250,000).

"Nightline" turned in double-digit gains week to week (1.466 million, 621,000 and 446,000 on w/o 5/26/14) in Total Viewers (+17%), Adults 25-54 (+22%) and Adults 18-49 (+36%). In fact, "Nightline" attracted its largest Adult 18-49 audience in nearly 1 year, while posting its best Adult 25-54 performance in nearly 6 months - since w/o 6/17/13 and w/o 12/16/13, respectively.

For the 2nd time in the last 3 weeks, "Nightline" built on the year-ago week (1.455 million, 646,000 and 515,000 on w/o 6/3/13) in all 3 measures: Total Viewers (+18%), Adults 25-54 (+17%) and Adults 18-49 (+18%).
