Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: "Got Talent" Continues Its Reign for NBC

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/19/14):

NBC (7.803 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) was still the network to beat on Tuesday with new episodes of "Food Fighters" (4.635 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) and "America's Got Talent" (9.388 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1).

CBS (7.096 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2) then claimed the silver with repeats of "NCIS" (9.028 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (7.027 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5) and "Person of Interest" (5.235 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7).

Next up was ABC (3.490 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2) with originals from "Extreme Weight Loss" (3.372 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) and "20/20: From Hell" (3.727 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.338 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up second runs of "Family Guy" (1.899 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.404 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #9), "New Girl" (1.060 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #10) and "The Mindy Project" (0.989 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #11).

And finally, repeats of "Arrow" (0.772 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #12) and "Supernatural" (0.637 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #13) on The CW (0.704 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Arrow" delivered a 0.3 rating while "Supernatural" posted a 0.2 rating.

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.9/8; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 1.9/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/4 with an encore.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/6; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/4 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (8/20/13):

NBC (6.747 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1) was the top draw for the fifth consecutive Tuesday thanks to a rebroadcast of "Hollywood Game Night" (3.538 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) and a new two-hour "America's Got Talent" (8.351 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1).

FOX (3.751 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then took home a distant second place with its weekly "So You Think You Can Dance" (3.751 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) coverage.

Next up was ABC (3.421 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) with a new "Extreme Weight Loss" (3.692 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) alongside a repeat "Body of Proof" (2.879 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #10).

Meanwhile, CBS (6.282 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) offered up repeats of "NCIS" (7.685 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (5.986 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6) and "Person of Interest" (5.176 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6).

And finally, The CW (1.644 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5) closed out the evening with its lineup of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (2.265 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6), another "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (2.240 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6) and "Capture" (1.035 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #11). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Line" delivered a 0.9 and a 0.9 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Capture" a 0.5 rating at 9:00/8:00c.
