"THE TONIGHT SHOW" SETS NINE-WEEK HIGHS IN 18-49 DEMO AND TOTAL VIEWERS FOR WEEK OF AUG. 11-15

"Late Night" Sees Week-to-Week Increases in Both Categories as Well

NEW YORK - Aug. 21, 2014 - "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" has reported its top ratings results in nine weeks. Averaging a 1.14 rating in adults 18-49 and 4.002 million viewers overall for the week of Aug. 11-15, "Tonight" earned its top marks in both categories since the week of June 9-13.

At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" grew week to week by +11% in adults 18-49 (to a 0.49 from a 0.44) and +5% in total viewers (1.550 million vs. 1.481 million).

Fallon's strong week was keyed by elevated results on Thursday (with guests Sylvester Stallone, Eve Hewson and "Last Comic Standing" winner Rod Man, 1.31 rating in adults 18-49, 4.313 million viewers overall) and Tuesday (featuring guest Mickey Rourke, Rob Riggle, Kings of Leon, a Robin Williams tribute and a "House of Cards" parody, 1.27 in 18-49, 4.216 million viewers overall).

The Tuesday and Thursday editions delivered the two biggest "Tonight" overall audiences since Wednesday, June 11 and the Thursday 18-49 rating was the show's highest since that same date.

Note that ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" were encores last week.
