HGTV IS #1 AMONG CABLE NETS ON WEEKENDS IN AUGUST
New York [For Immediate Release - September 3, 2014] HGTV continues to strengthen its position as the top viewing destination among key viewers on weekends. In August, HGTV was the #1 weekend destination among upscale viewers P25-54 and ranked #2 among all viewers P25-54. HGTV also ranked #1 among all W25-54, including upscale W25-54. In fact, August 2014 now ranks as the network's "best ever August" for the weekend daypart among P25-54 with a .45 rating. In addition, during the month HGTV achieved an average primetime rating of .52 among P25-54, a six percent increase over the same time period last year. For the fourth consecutive month, HGTV was a Top 10 cable network among P25-54 prime ratings.
Several new series drove HGTV's ratings performance, including the summer reality competition Flipping the Block with host Josh Temple; Vacation House for Free, "a find it, renovate it, rent it and vacation in it" series featuring host Matt Blashaw; and viewer favorites Property Brothers, Flip or Flop and House Hunters Renovation.
