Tuesday Results:
· "One Direction: The TV Special" (0.7/2 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) scored a four-week high for NBC in the slot in teens 12-17 (with a 1.0 rating), best since "The Voice" earned a 1.2 in the hour on Nov. 25. The special also scored a six-week high for NBC in the slot in females 12-17 (1.6), best since "The Voice" earned a 1.8 on Nov. 11.
· In a strong time period for NBC in female teens (slot regular "The Voice" is the network's top series in that demo), "One Direction: The TV Special" beat NBC's season average by +7% (1.6 vs. a 1.5 season average).
· "One Direction: The TV Special" tied for #2 in the slot among the Big 4 in adults 18-34 (with a 0.5 rating).
· ONE DIRECTION "TONIGHT SHOW" BOOST:
· Note that One Direction teamed with fellow guest Jerry Seinfeld and musical guest Big Sean with The Roots to help "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" deliver its second-highest Tuesday rating so far this season in metered-market households.
· "Tonight" averaged a 3.2/8 in metered-market households, which tops all Tuesday results so far this season except the previous week's 3.5/9 on the night of the "Voice" finale, which was the top-rated "Tonight" on any night of the week in nine months (since Monday, March 17, 3.7). Last week's Tuesday guests were Christoph Waltz and Nicki Minaj and the show featured an appearance by Justin Timberlake.
· An encore telecast of "Michael Bublé's Christmas in New York" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) matched the encore of Bublé's Christmas special last year in 18-49 and is up +3% in total viewers (vs. a 0.7/2 in 18-49, 3.399 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013).
· The "Michael Bublé's Christmas in New York" rebroadcast maintained or grew half-hour to half-hour in every key measure.
· A rebroadcast of "Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) maintained 100% of its lead-in in 18-49 and built by +4% in total viewers.
· The encore of "Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale" matched its rebroadcast of last year in 18-49 and is up +3% in total viewers (vs. a 0.7/2 in 18-49, 3.545 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013).
In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday Night:
· With guests Jerry Seinfeld, One Direction and musical guest Big Sean with The Roots, "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" delivered its second-highest Tuesday rating in metered-market households so far this season, trailing this fall only the prior week's rating on the night of "The Voice" finale.
· "Tonight" averaged a 3.2/8 in metered-market households, which tops all Tuesday results so far this season except the previous week's 3.5/9 on the night of the "Voice" finale, which was the top-rated "Tonight" on any night of the week since Monday, March 17 (3.7). · In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.3/5; "Late Show," 0.5/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3 with an encore.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/4 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
