"48 HOURS: THE MILLIONAIRE, THE MODEL & THE HIT MAN" IS SATURDAY'S #1 PROGRAM WITH VIEWERS

48 HOURS: "The Millionaire, the Model & the Hit Man" was Saturday's #1 program with viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Jan. 31.

48 HOURS was #1 at 10:00 PM with viewers. The broadcast averaged 5.59 million viewers and a 1.3/04 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. Compared to the last week, 48 HOURS was up +8% in both viewers (from 5.19m) and adults 25-54 (from 1.2/03). Compared to the same night last year, 48 HOURS was up +7% in viewers and even in adults 25-54.

Saturday's broadcast featured Troy Roberts and 48 HOURS' investigation into the twisted relationship between millionaire health supplement distributor and a wannabe rock 'n roller Dino Guglielmelli, his model wife, Monica Olsen, and the presumed hit man who came into the picture, Richard Fuhrmann.

Guglielmelli and Olsen were married for seven years and seemed to have a perfect relationship. He was a dashing executive who fronted a rock band. She was model and mother of two beautiful children. But authorities say he was cheating on Olsen all along, and a friend told 48 HOURS he was upset Olsen had returned to modeling. Their relationship fell apart.

When he couldn't get his way in the divorce, prosecutors maintain, Guglielmelli asked Fuhrmann to kill Olsen. Fuhrmann went to authorities and agreed to wear a wire. Over lunch, Fuhrmann got Guglielmelli to repeat that he would pay $80,000 to have Olsen killed. Guglielmelli is now serving a nine-year prison sentence for the plot to kill his wife.

"The Millionaire, the Model & the Hit Man" is produced by Judy Rybak and Greg Fisher. Michelle Fanucci is the planning producer. Aimée deSimone is the field producer. Jud Johnston and Grayce Arlotta-Berner are the editors. Al Briganti is the executive editor. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
