Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: "Empire" Soars to Another High for FOX

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (2/25/15):

FOX (11.966 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.0, #1) claimed another victory on Wednesday thanks to a new episodes of "American Idol" (10.179 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.6, #3) and "Empire" (13.753 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.3, #1) - another series high.

ABC (6.772 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2) then took home a distant second with its mix of "The Middle" (7.393 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.0, #7), "The Goldbergs" (7.459 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.5, #4), "Modern Family" (9.303 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 3.4, #2), "Black-ish" (6.724 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T5) and "Nashville" (4.875 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T11).

Next up was CBS (7.973 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.9, #3) and its 90-minute season openers to "Survivor: Worlds Apart" (9.884 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T5) and "The Amazing Race" (6.061 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T9).

Meanwhile, NBC (7.562 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4) served up fresh installments of "The Mysteries of Laura" (7.645 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T11), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (7.693 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #8) and "Chicago PD" (7.347 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T9).

And finally, new episodes of "Arrow" (2.866 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.0, #13) and "The 100" (1.786 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #14) closed out the evening on The CW (2.326 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former delivered a 0.7 rating while the latter posted a 0.3 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.2/6; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/4.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.7/5 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

Next up was NBC (6.772 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T3) with the return of "Revolution" (4.589 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.3, #11), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (7.702 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.0, #7) and "Chicago PD" (8.025 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.2, #6).
