"48 HOURS: JANET'S SECRET" IS SATURDAY'S #1 PRIMETIME PROGRAM WITH KEY NEWS DEMOS AND VIEWERS

"48 Hours" Finishes May Sweep As Saturday's #1 Non-Sports Broadcast With Adults 25-54 and Viewers

48 HOURS: "Janet's Secret" was Saturday's #1 primetime program in adults 25-54 - the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news - as well as adults 18-49 and viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for May 16.

At 10:00 PM, 48 HOURS was #1 with adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and viewers. 48 HOURS delivered 5.86 million viewers, a 1.3/04 with adults 25-54 and a 0.9/03 with adults 18-49. Compared to the previous week, 48 HOURS was even in adults 25-54, up +13% in adults 18-49 (from 0.8/03), and added +370,000 viewers (from 5.49m, +7%). Compared to the same night last year, 48 HOURS was up +8% in adults 25-54, up +13% in adults 18-49 and up + 18% in viewers.

48 HOURS finished the May Sweep as Saturday's #1 non-sports broadcast with adults 25-54 and viewers. Compared to last year, 48 HOURS was up + 4% in viewers (5.37m from 5.18m).

Saturday's broadcast featured Peter Van Sant and 48 HOURS' investigation into the death of Janet Walsh and the three-decade search for her killer. Walsh was found dead in 1979. It was a case that confounded investigators, though they never gave up. It was the perfect murder for 34 years, until new technology helped uncover information that would lead to an arrest and conviction.

48 HOURS: "Janet's Secret" is produced by Susan Mallie. Claire Anderson is the associate producer. George Baluzy, Diana Modica, Tom Costantino, Mike Baluzy and Kevin Dean are the editors. Anthony Batson is the senior broadcast producer. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
