NBC Ranks #1 in Primetime in Metered-Market Households and Also Dominates Among the Big 4 Networks in Adults 18-49
NBC spins the numbers for Saturday, June 6.

[via press release from NBC]

Saturday Primetime Results:

· Regarding Saturday's primetime Nielsens, note that the fast-affiliate ratings that came in at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT are not time zone-adjusted and are subject to updates for live sporting events. As those preliminary numbers stand, NBC, featuring coverage of Stanley Cup Final hockey, ranks #1 for the night in all key measures - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers. In fact, in these preliminary numbers, subject to adjustment, NBC is matching the combined primetime averages of ABC, CBS and Fox in adults 18-49 (1.4 vs. a combined 1.4).

· In metered-market results, which are time zone-adjusted, last night's NBC Sports 7:15-10:15 p.m. ET coverage of Stanley Cup Playoff hockey, featuring the Chicago Blackhawks at the Tampa Bay Lightning, dominated the night with a 4.80 rating in household results from the 56 markets metered by Nielsen Media Research.

· The 4.80 is NBC's best Stanley Cup Final Game 2 overnight ever.

· The 4.80 is up +5% vs. last year's double-overtime Game 2 between the New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings (4.56).

· Game 2 posted a 22.62 household rating in Chicago and a 15.10 in Tampa. NBC was the #1 network in both markets during the game. Top local markets for Game 2 in metered-market households: Chicago (22.62), Tampa (15.10), Buffalo (8.59), Milwaukee (6.66) and Ft. Myers (6.46).

· NBC ranked #1 in primetime in metered-market households (3.5/7 from 8-11 p.m.). NBC also dominated among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 in the Local People Meters (with a 2.2 rating, 9 share from 8-11 p.m. in those 25 LPM markets), beating the combined ratings of ABC, CBS and Fox (2.2 vs. a combined 1.5).

In Late-Night Metered-Market Household Averages for Saturday Night:

· An encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Chris Pratt and musical guest Ariana Grande, averaged a 2.6 rating, 7 share in household results in Nielsen's 56 metered markets and a 1.0/5 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with Local People Meters.

· The "SNL" rebroadcast is the #2 telecast of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 in the Local People Meters, behind only NBC's primetime Stanley Cup Final coverage.

· Note that "SNL" adds significant viewership via time-shifting, with originals this season growing by an average of +44% going from "live plus same day ratings" to "live plus seven day" in adults 18-49 (from a 1.84 rating to a 2.65).

In Saturday Afternoon Metered Markets:

Also note these results for NBC Sports' afternoon coverage of the Belmont Stakes:

· NBC posted a 12.3 rating 27 share from 6:15-7:15 p.m. ET in metered-market households for the Belmont Stakes, as American Pharoah won the first Triple Crown in 37 years.

· It's the highest metered-market rating for a Saturday afternoon sporting event since the AFC Divisional Playoff game on Jan. 10, also on NBC.

· NBC's back-to-back 12+ overnight ratings for the Belmont (12.9 in '14) mark the first time on record successive Belmont overnights topped a 12 rating.

· Top local-market results for NBC coverage of the Belmont Stakes were: Louisville, 24.2/44; Baltimore, 18.2/37; Tampa, 17.8/35; Ft. Myers, 17.0/32; New York, 16.6/36; Oklahoma City, 16.1/28; Richmond, 16.0/28; Indianapolis, 15.4/31; Knoxville, 15.3/30; and Orlando 14.9/30.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" unless otherwise indicated.
