The Astronaut Wives Club Opens to ABC's Top Summer Rating in the Hour Since Aug 2013/Mistresses Beats NBC's Dramas by 50% from 9-11pm

ABC Thursday Prime (8-11pm - 4.4 million and 0.9/4 in AD18-49): With the series debut of The Astronaut Wives Club and the 3rd season premiere of Mistresses on Thursday, ABC beat original schedules on NBC and Fox in Total Viewers (4.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (0.9/4). ABC's The Astronaut Wives Club and Mistresses ranked as the Thursday's Top 2 dramas in Adults 18-49.

The Astronaut Wives Club (8-9pm - 5.5 million and 1.1/4 in AD18-49): Despite its 8pm time period without a network lead-in, ABC's The Astronaut Wives Club debuted higher than Fox's 9pm summertime drama Wayward Pines by 10% (1.0/3 on 5/14/15) and tied NBC's 9pm 2-hour debut of Aquarius (1.1/4 on 5/28/15).

· The Astronaut Wives Club improved its hour from the year-ago night with original programming by 57% in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4 vs. 0.7/3 - Black Box), posting ABC's highest non-sports summertime delivery in the hour since August 2013 - since 8/22/13.

Mistresses (9-11pm - 3.8 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49): At 9pm, moving from Monday (coming out of The Bachelorette) to Thursday, ABC's season premiere of Mistresses ranked #1 in its 2-hour slot in Adults 18-49 (tie), defeating NBC's Thursday drama combo of Aquarius/Hannibal by 50% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3 vs. 0.6/2). Mistresses was up from last season's finale (on 9/1/14) in Total Viewers (3.8 million vs. 3.7 million) and steady in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3). In fact the show marked its most-watched telecast in nearly 1 year, outdrawing the last 8 telecasts of its 2nd season - since 6/30/14. Unlike the Fox and NBC debuts which did not build during their respective openers, the new ABC drama gained 10% from its first half-hour to its second half-hour with young adults.
