Last Night's Seahawks-Packers "Sunday Night Football" Game Is NBC's Second-Best Ever Week 2 Rating in the Metered Markets
NBC spins the numbers for Sunday, September 20.

[via press release from NBC]

Note corrected date: It's NBC's second-best ever Week 2 rating in the metered markets, behind only a 16.5/27 for the Giants-Cowboys game that opened the Cowboy's AT&T Stadium on Sept. 20, 2009.

Sunday Results:

Regarding this morning's Nielsens, note that the fast-affiliate ratings that came in at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT are not time zone-adjusted and typically understate live NFL telecasts. Despite that, NBC is currently #1 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key ratings measure - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers -- in the fast-affiliate ratings.

· In metered-market results, which are time zone-adjusted, NBC Sports coverage of last night's Seattle Seahawks-Green Bay Packers "Sunday Night Football" game averaged a 16.3 rating, 27 share in metered-market households and NBC won the night in the 56 local markets metered by Nielsen Media Research and in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with Local People Meters.

· It's NBC's second-best ever Week 2 rating in the metered markets, behind only a 16.5/27 for the Giants-Cowboys game that opened the Cowboy's AT&T Stadium on Sept. 20, 2009.

· Last night's 16.3 is a +16% gain versus the year-ago week-two Bears-49ers telecast (16.3 vs. 14.0).

· Teamed with last week's Thursday and Sunday results, last night's 16.3/27 for Seahawks-Packers marks the first time in its 10 seasons of "SNF" that NBC has opened with a 16 metered-market rating for each of its first three games.

· The Seahawks' 50.6/75 rating last night in the Seattle market is their second-best local rating in 11 all-time NBC "SNF" games (behind only the 51.9/77 for Seahawks-Cardinals on Dec. 21, 2014).

· Top local ratings for the Seahawks-Packers game on NBC were: Milwaukee, 52.5/73; Seattle, 50.6/75; Portland, 25.8/46; Las Vegas, 24.9/49; Denver, 22.9/40; New Orleans, 21.8/31; Minneapolis, 21.7/35; Albuquerque, 21.1/35; Richmond, 21.0/33; and Phoenix, 19.6/32.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.
