Became Most-Watched, Highest-Rated Non-Sports Program on Saturday Night
Hallmark Channel laid claim to Saturday night with the world premiere of its most recent original movie, Harvest Moon, chalking up a 2.6 HH rating and drawing nearly 3 million total viewers. In its 9-11p time period, Harvest Moon was the highest-rated and most-watched non-sports program across demographics, including HH, W25-54, W18-49, and total viewers. Additionally, the film has the distinction of marking Hallmark Channel's most-watched original movie in 2015 to-date among HH, W18-49, and A18-49.
In Harvest Moon, Jen Stone (Jessy Schram) is a spoiled city girl accustomed to an expensive lifestyle when her father William (Willy Aames) goes bankrupt and her trust fund runs dry. Thinking she can sell the family pumpkin farm to make a quick profit, Jen travels upstate, where she meets Brett Jarrett (Jesse Hutch), the handsome young farm manager. As Jen surveys the dilapidated property, she realizes the struggling farm needs a makeover if she wants it to sell, but Brett worries her plan will put his family - including his young daughter, brother and aunt - out of a job and a home. As Jen moves in to help fix up the property, Brett attempts to sabotage the sale by giving Jen a taste of real hard work on the farm. But Jen remains determined, and as she learns more about the Jarretts and their unwavering strength through a family tragedy, she begins to discover potential in the unique pumpkin patch and a secret family recipe. Seeing Jen refuse to give up, Brett's feelings for her start to change, and before long, their farmhouse turns into a blossoming country romance under the light of the harvest moon.
