ABC is #1 on Wednesday for the 2nd Week Running - The Middle Hits a 5-Week High

ABC Wednesday Prime (8-11pm - 5.5 million and 1.6/5 in AD18-49): ABC ranked #1 on Wednesday for the 2nd week in a row in Adults 18-49 (1.6/5 - tied w/CBS and Fox). In fact the Net was #1 on the first two Wednesdays of the February sweep for the first time in 17 years - since Feb 1999. ABC's Modern Family (2.4/8) topped Fox's American Idol (+20% - 2.0/7) and the premiere of Survivor (+26% - 1.9/6) on the night to rank as Wednesday's #1 TV show for its 3rd straight original in Adults 18-49.

The Middle/The Goldbergs (8-9pm - 6.8 million and 1.9/7 in AD18-49): On average from 8-9pm The Middle and The Goldbergs (1.9/7) ran neck and neck in the hour with CBS' season premiere of Survivor (2.0/7) and Fox's American Idol (2.0/7), while beating its scripted competition on NBC by 90% (1.0/3 for The Mysteries of Laura). The Middle was up 6% week to week in Adults 18-49 (1.9/7 vs. 1.8/7) to a 5-week high - since 1/13/16.

Modern Family/black-ish (9-10pm - 6.6 million and 2.1/7 in AD18-49): ABC won the 9pm hour in Adults 18-49 with Modern Family and black-ish, leading by 31% over its closest competition (2.1/7 vs. 1.6/5 - CBS' Survivor/Big Bang Theory and NBC's L&O: SVU tied). Also in the hour, ABC's comedies paced well ahead of Fox's Idol-driven Hell's Kitchen (+62% - 2.1/7 vs. 1.3/4).

American Crime (10-11pm - 3.2 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49): In the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's American Crime held steady week to week in Live + Same Day Adults 18-49 (0.8/3 vs. 0.9/3).
