Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Viewers, Splits Demo Honors with NBC

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (5/10/16):

CBS (12.007 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) was the top draw on Tuesday with its mix of "NCIS" (15.657 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1), "NCIS: New Orleans" (12.954 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3) and "Person of Interest" (7.412 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7).

NBC (8.273 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) then shared in the demo honors with fresh installments from "The Voice" (8.906 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2), "Chicago Med" (7.997 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3) and "Chicago Fire" (7.917 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3).

Next up was The CW (2.442 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with originals from "The Flash" (3.482 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #6) and "Containment" (1.401 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.5, #16).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.827 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) offered up new episodes from "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.920 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10), "The Real O'Neals" (3.173 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.928 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10) and its special "BattleBots: The Gears Awaken" (2.009 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T13).

And finally, FOX (1.945 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) closed out the evening with a new "New Girl" (2.356 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7) alongside the season finales of "Grandfathered" (1.644 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T13), "New Girl" (2.172 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #9) and "The Grinder" (1.606 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T13).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (5/12/15):

CBS (12.321 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) was the most-watched network on Tuesday with the season finales of "NCIS" (14.745 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (13.518 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3) plus a special "CSI: Cyber" (8.702 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T11).

NBC (6.578 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) then shared in the demo crown with its mix of "The Voice" (8.976 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1), a new "Undateable" (4.316 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7) and the season finales of "Undateable" (3.945 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7) and "Chicago Fire" (6.628 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T4).

Next up was ABC (5.953 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) and a special "Dancing with the Stars" (9.955 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T4) followed by a new "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (4.219 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7) and the season finale of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (3.685 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7).

Meanwhile, FOX (4.359 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4) served up fresh installments of "Hell's Kitchen" (3.228 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T11) and "American Idol" (5.491 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T11).

And finally, new episodes of "The Flash" (3.506 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.4, #6) and "iZombie" (1.760 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #14) on The CW (2.633 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former posted a 1.1 rating while the latter delivered a 0.5 rating.
