Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: "Got Talent" Once Again Keeps NBC on Top

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/28/16):

NBC (9.293 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1) was still the network to beat on Tuesday with its coverage of the "U.S. Olympic Trials: Swimming" (5.783 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) followed by a new "America's Got Talent" (11.048 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1).

CBS (5.957 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2) then was the number two draw with a repeat "NCIS" (7.638 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4) alongside the return of "Zoo" (5.453 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7) and a second "Zoo" (4.782 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9).

Next up was ABC (3.628 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2) with second runs of "The Middle" (3.571 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9) and "Black-ish" (3.078 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9) plus originals from "Uncle Buck" (3.663 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3), another "Uncle Buck" (3.484 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4) and "To Tell the Truth" (3.985 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.289 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up fresh installments of "Hotel Hell" (3.099 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7) and "Coupled" (1.481 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12).

And finally, The CW (0.875 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the evening with a repeat "The Flash" (0.892 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #13) and a new "Containment" (0.858 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #14).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/5 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.8/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/30/15):

FOX (5.880 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1) got a big boost on Tuesday with the primetime portion of its "FIFA Women's World Cup 2015" (9.038 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1) followed by the special "Beat the Champions" (2.723 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #5).

NBC (8.821 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2) then had to settle for second place with a new "America's Got Talent" (10.576 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #2) and the season finale of "I Can Do That!" (5.311 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3).

Next up was CBS (7.238 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with repeats of "NCIS" (7.480 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #6) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (6.168 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7) bookending the premiere of "Zoo" (8.065 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.399 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) served up repeats of "Fresh Off the Boat" (2.681 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #9) and "Black-ish" (2.274 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #10) plus a new "Extreme Weight Loss" (2.360 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7).

And finally, repeats of "The Flash" (1.027 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #11) and "iZombie" (0.677 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #12) on The CW (0.852 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former posted a 0.2 rating while the latter delivered a 0.2 rating.
