Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS, NFL Hold Onto Top Spot

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/6/16):

CBS (7.996 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) was the network to beat on Thursday with its coverage of "Thursday Night Football Pre-Game" (7.727 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.1, #3) and "Thursday Night Football" (8.050 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1).

ABC (5.882 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) then was the silver with its trio of "Grey's Anatomy" (8.305 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #2), "Notorious" (4.595 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9) and "How to Get Away with Murder" (4.747 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T5).

Next up was NBC (6.124 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) and its lineup of "Superstore" (5.198 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T5), "The Good Place" (4.979 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4), "Chicago Med" (6.899 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T5) and "The Blacklist" (6.386 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #8).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.682 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) offered up fresh installments of "Rosewood" (3.766 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #11) and "Pitch" (3.598 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9).

And finally, The CW (0.998 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night with its annual "iHeartRadio Music Festival - Night 1" (0.998 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #12).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 ratings were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4; "Late Show," delayed by an NFL overrun; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," delayed by an NFL overrun. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," delayed by an NFL overrun.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
