Friday's Broadcast Ratings: World Series Dominates for FOX

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/28/16):

Coverage of the "World Series, Game 3" (17.684 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.7, #1) sparked FOX (17.684 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.7, #1) to another big victory on Friday.

CBS (8.128 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then claimed the silver with its trio of "MacGyver" (7.262 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4), "Hawaii Five-0" (8.360 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4) and "Blue Bloods" (8.763 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2).

Next up was ABC (3.980 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with its annual presentation of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (4.066 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4) followed by "Shark Tank" (4.356 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) and "20/20" (3.521 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #8).

Meanwhile, NBC (3.792 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) offered up its duo of "Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon" (2.731 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #9) and "Dateline NBC" (4.322 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #7).

And finally, week two of "The Vampire Diaries" (0.919 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #10) and "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (0.478 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #11) on The CW (0.698 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/3; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2, with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (10/30/15):

FOX (12.508 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.1, #1) was the network to beat on Friday with its coverage of the "World Series, Game 3" (12.508 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.1, #1).

ABC (6.852 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) then had to settle for second place with its mix of "Last Man Standing" (6.841 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4), "Dr. Ken" (5.783 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4), "Shark Tank" (6.085 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) and "20/20" (8.158 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2).

Meanwhile, NBC (3.256 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) offered up new episodes of "Undateable" (2.652 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T11) and "Truth Be Told" (2.326 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T11), the return of "Grimm" (3.967 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7) and a new "Dateline NBC" (3.314 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #10).
