Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC, FOX Split Tight Demo Race

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/25/17):

ABC (5.352 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) was the top demo draw on Wednesday with repeats of "The Goldbergs" (4.779 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5), "Speechless" (4.018 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7), "Modern Family" (4.415 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7) and "Black-ish" (3.908 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7) plus its special "President Donald Trump: The White House Interview" (7.496 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1).

FOX (5.062 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) then shared in the adults 18-49 honors with new episodes from "Lethal Weapon" (6.254 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T2) and "Star" (3.870 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5).

Next up was CBS (5.525 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) with the time slot premiere of "Hunted" (5.528 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4), a second "Hunted" (5.441 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T2) and "Code Black" (5.606 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #11).

Meanwhile, NBC (4.561 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) offered up repeats of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (4.164 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12), another "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (5.149 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #10) and "Chicago PD" (4.370 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12).

And finally, the return of "Arrow" (1.684 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #14) and the season finale of "Frequency" (0.825 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) closed out the evening for The CW (1.254 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5).

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (1/27/16):

FOX (6.948 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) was the demo champ on Wednesday with a new "American Idol" (9.593 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1) and the relocated "Hell's Kitchen" (4.304 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5).

CBS (7.978 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then was the number two draw with its mix of "2 Broke Girls" (6.857 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3), "Mike & Molly" (7.095 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3), "Criminal Minds" (9.430 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #2) and "Code Black" (7.528 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7).
