Friday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC Edges Out Competition in Adults 18-49

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (2/24/17):

ABC (5.448 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1) edged out the competition on Friday with its mix of "Last Man Standing" (6.597 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2), "Dr. Ken" (4.581 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #6), "Shark Tank" (5.814 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) and "20/20" (4.942 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5).

CBS (7.786 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then was a close second with new episodes of "MacGyver" (7.013 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) and "Hawaii Five-0" (9.018 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) plus a repeat "Blue Bloods" (7.327 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7).

Next up was NBC (3.419 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3) with originals from "Grimm" (3.979 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7), "Emerald City" (2.309 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10) and "Dateline NBC" (3.970 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.226 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) served up new episodes of "Rosewood" (2.690 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10) and "Sleepy Hollow" (1.761 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12).

And finally on The CW (0.837 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5), new episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" (1.067 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13) and "Reign" (0.607 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #14) closed out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/4 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (2/26/16):

CBS (8.092 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1) pulled into the top demo spot on Friday with its mix of "The Amazing Race" (5.782 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4), "Hawaii Five-0" (8.235 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4) and "Blue Bloods" (10.259 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1).

ABC (5.005 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) then was the number two draw with its lineup of "Last Man Standing" (6.855 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4), "Dr. Ken" (5.163 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #7), "Shark Tank" (5.512 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1) and "20/20" (3.494 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9).

Next up was NBC (4.976 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) with a new "Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon" (3.549 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9) and a special two-hour "Dateline NBC" (5.689 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.396 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up fresh installments of "Sleepy Hollow" (2.985 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #8) and "Second Chance" (1.807 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11).And finally, The CW (1.112 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) closed out the evening with its crossover between "The Vampire Diaries" (1.169 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11) and "The Originals" (1.056 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13).
