Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC Inches Past CBS Among Adults 18-49

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/27/17):

ABC (5.081 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) edged out the competition on Thursday with originals from "Grey's Anatomy" (6.884 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2), "Scandal" (5.294 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) and "The Catch" (3.066 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T10).

CBS (6.475 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then was a close second with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (12.098 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1), the Monday-bound "The Great Indoors" (6.450 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #5), "Mom" (7.075 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4), "Life in Pieces" (5.494 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #6) and "The Amazing Race" (3.867 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T10).

Next up was NBC (4.400 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with a repeat "Superstore" (2.403 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T13) followed by new episodes of "Superstore" (2.740 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8), "Chicago Med" (5.790 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #7) and "The Blacklist" (4.841 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.073 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up a new "MasterChef Junior" (2.545 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T10) and the season finale of "Kicking & Screaming" (1.602 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T13).

And finally on The CW (1.124 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5), fresh installments of "Supernatural" (1.400 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T13) and "Riverdale" (0.849 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #16) rounded out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.6/3; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/2 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/28/16):

CBS (7.668 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) claimed top honors on Thursday with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (13.859 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1), "The Odd Couple" (8.401 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T3), "Mom" (8.410 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T3), "2 Broke Girls" (6.618 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T5) and "Rush Hour" (4.360 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #9).
