Friday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Viewers, Splits Demos with NBC

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/28/17):

CBS (7.230 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T1) was the top overall draw on Friday with the return of "Undercover Boss" (5.353 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2) followed by new episodes of "Hawaii Five-0" (7.871 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #1) and "Blue Bloods" (8.468 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2).

NBC (3.838 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T1) then shared in the demo crown with its lineup of "First Dates" (3.224 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #5) and "Dateline NBC" (4.145 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2).

Next up was ABC (2.547 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3) with a new "The Toy Box" (2.690 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T6) and its special "Let It Fall: LA 1982-1992" (2.476 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T6).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.406 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) offered up the season finale of "Rosewood" (2.898 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #8) and a repeat "Lethal Weapon" (1.914 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #9).

And finally on The CW (0.827 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5), new episodes of "The Originals" (0.961 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.3, #10) and "Reign" (0.694 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #11) rounded out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.5/4 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/29/16):

CBS (7.928 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1) was the most-watched network on Friday with its usual mix of "The Amazing Race" (5.551 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7), "Hawaii Five-0" (8.292 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) and "Blue Bloods" (9.944 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2).

ABC (5.089 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1) however shared in the demo honors with a repeat "Shark Tank" (4.075 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #9) followed by originals from "Shark Tank" (5.636 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) and "20/20" (5.558 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2).

Next up was NBC (3.967 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) and its trio of "Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon" (3.687 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10), "Grimm" (4.007 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7) and "Dateline NBC" (4.207 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.453 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) served up an encore "Hell's Kitchen" (1.832 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #11) alongside the season finale of "Hell's Kitchen" (3.074 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5).

And finally, new episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" (1.055 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12) and "The Originals" (0.932 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12) on The CW (0.993 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the night.
