Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC, "Got Talent" Top Competition in Viewers, Demos

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/23/17):

NBC (6.002 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) was the top draw on Wednesday thanks to a new "America's Got Talent" (10.527 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1) followed by "Marlon" (4.972 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3), a second "Marlon" (3.819 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4) and a repeat "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (3.083 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #6).

FOX (3.436 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then claimed the silver with its expanded two-hour "MasterChef" (3.436 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4).

Next up was CBS (4.085 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) and its mix of "Big Brother 19" (6.130 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2), "Salvation" (3.142 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11) and a repeat "Criminal Minds" (2.983 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T14).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.205 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) resumed repeats of "The Goldbergs" (2.502 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11), "Speechless" (1.954 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11), "Modern Family" (2.447 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7), "American Housewife" (2.217 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7), another "Modern Family" (2.186 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7) and another "The Goldbergs" (1.928 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7).

And finally, repeats of "Arrow" (1.038 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T14) and "Supernatural" (1.150 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T14) on The CW (1.094 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) rounded out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/3 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.8/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

NBC (7.748 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) continued its win streak on Wednesday with an "America's Got Talent" (7.180 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) recap followed by new episodes of "America's Got Talent" (10.476 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) and "The Night Shift" (5.588 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #5).

FOX (4.113 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then was the number two draw with the return of "MasterChef" (4.113 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4).

Next up was CBS (4.094 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and its trio of "Big Brother 18" (6.396 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.0, #2), "Criminal Minds" (3.309 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T11) and "American Gothic" (2.577 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #13).
