Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: "CMA Awards" Top Charts for ABC

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/8/17):

ABC (14.286 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.2, #1) rose to the top spot on Wednesday thanks to "The 51st Annual CMA Awards" (14.286 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.2, #1).

FOX (4.597 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) then had to settle for the silver with new episodes from "Empire" (5.409 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) and "Star" (3.785 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4).

Next up was CBS (6.457 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and its mix of "Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers" (7.728 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3), "SEAL Team" (6.169 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6) and "Criminal Minds" (5.474 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6).

Meanwhile, NBC (5.006 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) served up originals from "The Blacklist" (4.988 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (4.893 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #5) and "Chicago PD" (5.137 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6).

And finally, fresh installments from "Riverdale" (1.490 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #10) and "Dynasty" (0.722 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #11) rounded out the night for The CW (1.106 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5).

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

FOX (7.581 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) took home the top spot on Wednesday with the post-World Series return of "Lethal Weapon" (7.027 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.8, #5) and "Empire" (8.136 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.9, #1).

ABC (5.945 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) then snagged the silver with its mix of "The Goldbergs" (6.435 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.0, #3), "Speechless" (5.609 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.7, #6), "Modern Family" (7.172 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.3, #2), "Black-ish" (5.303 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.6, #7) and "Designated Survivor" (5.576 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #11).

Next up was CBS (7.378 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) and its trio of "Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X" (8.756 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #4), "Criminal Minds" (7.328 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T8) and "Code Black" (6.049 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #13).
