Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Tops Demos with "Thursday Night Football"

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/9/17):

NBC (8.685 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) staked claim to the top spot on Thursday with the debut of its "Thursday Night Football Pre-Game" (7.913 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.1, #4) and "Thursday Night Football" (8.840 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.5, #2) coverage.

CBS (9.071 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then was the silver draw with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (13.581 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1), "Young Sheldon" (12.312 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.2, #3), "Mom" (8.793 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #6), "Life in Pieces" (6.577 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #7) and "SWAT" (6.582 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9).

Next up was ABC (5.621 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) and its 300th episode of "Grey's Anatomy" (8.132 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.9, #5) followed by "Scandal" (5.004 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #8) and "How to Get Away with Murder" (3.727 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T11).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.174 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) offered up originals from "Gotham" (2.693 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T11) and "The Orville" (3.655 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9).

And The CW (1.534 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) likewise rounded out the night with "Supernatural" (1.743 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #13) and "Arrow" (1.325 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #14).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 ratings were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," in rebroadcast, delayed by an NFL overrun; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," delayed by an NFL overrun; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.3/5. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," delayed by an NFL overrun; "Late Late Show," 0.3/3.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" was delayed by an NFL overrun.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/10/16):

CBS (7.677 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) was the top draw on Thursday with new episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" (14.222 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.4, #1), "The Great Indoors" (7.911 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3), "Mom" (7.078 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T4), "Life in Pieces" (6.189 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6) and "Pure Genius" (5.331 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T11).

The silver then went to NBC (6.108 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) with its mix of "Superstore" (4.383 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #9), a second "Superstore" (4.521 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6), "Chicago Med" (7.355 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T4) and "The Blacklist" (6.516 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6).

Next up was ABC (5.072 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) and its trio of "Grey's Anatomy" (7.167 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2), "Notorious" (3.769 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T11) and "How to Get Away with Murder" (4.282 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.2, #10).
