Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: "The Voice" Keeps NBC on Top

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (3/20/18):

NBC (7.713 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) continued its Tuesday reign with new episodes of "The Voice" (10.746 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1), "Rise" (5.531 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4) and "Chicago Med" (6.864 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3).

CBS (6.999 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) then was the silver draw despite an all-repeat lineup of "NCIS" (7.984 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7), another "NCIS" (7.605 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) and "Bull" (5.408 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11).

Next up was ABC (3.639 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) and its combination of "The Middle" (5.792 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2), the season finale of "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.635 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #6), "Black-ish" (3.893 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4), a repeat "Modern Family" (3.060 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) and week two of "For the People" (2.727 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.190 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up a repeat "Lethal Weapon" (2.266 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T14) alongside originals from "LA to Vegas" (2.180 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11) and "The Mick" (2.046 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10).

And finally, a repeat "The Flash" (0.998 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #16) and a new "Black Lightning" (1.539 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T14) on The CW (1.268 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) rounded out the evening.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.6/4; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.3/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 17 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (3/21/17):

NBC (7.554 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) was the top draw on Tuesday with its mix of "The Voice" (10.686 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1), week two of "Trial & Error" (5.387 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3), a second "Trial & Error" (4.361 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) and "Chicago Fire" (7.102 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2).

CBS (7.462 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2) then was the second most-watched network despite repeats of "NCIS" (9.237 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5), "Bull" (7.019 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (6.131 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T14).

Next up was ABC (3.232 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2) with repeats of "The Middle" (4.319 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5), "American Housewife" (3.193 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8), "Fresh Off the Boat" (2.872 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8), "Black-ish" (2.645 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T14) and a new "People Icons" (3.183 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T14).
