Saturday's Broadcast Ratings: College Football Powers Another ABC Victory

Here are the highlights of the eight ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/24/18):

ABC (6.654 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) was the network to beat on Saturday with "Saturday Night College Football" (6.654 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1).

CBS (2.639 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #2) then was the silver draw with its mix of "Robbie the Reindeer: Hooves of Fire" (2.251 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3), "Robbie the Reindeer: Legend of the Lost Tribe" (1.939 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T5), "The Story of Santa Claus" (1.967 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T5) and a new "48 Hours" (3.856 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #2).

Next up was NBC (2.610 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T3) with an encore of "The National Dog Show Presented by Purina" (2.726 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T5) and a vintage "Saturday Night Live" (2.377 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3).

And finally, FOX (1.710 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T3) closed out the evening with its own "CFB on FOX" (1.710 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T5).

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

· A Nov. 24 encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Awkwafina and musical guest Travis Scott, has averaged a 2.6 rating, 7 share in "live plus same day" household results from the 56 local markets metered by Nielsen Media Research and a 0.9/5 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

· Last night's 0.9 is the high for a regular-slot "Saturday Night Live" encore in 18-49 in the local people meters since June 2 (1.0 with host Donald Glover and musical guest Glover as Childish Gambino) (excludes an Oct. 27 11:30-12:30 "Halloween" special).

· The Nov. 24 "Saturday Night Live" is the #2 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in 18-49 in the local people meters, topping all primetime shows on those nets except ABC's Notre Dame-USC college football coverage (2.1).

ABC (4.812 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) stayed on top last night with the penultimate week of "Saturday Night College Football" (4.812 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1).

CBS (2.547 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #2) then was the silver draw with its holiday mix of "Robbie the Reindeer: Hooves of Fire" (2.868 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2), "Robbie the Reindeer: Legend of the Lost Tribe" (2.093 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T4), "The Story of Santa Claus" (1.979 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T4) and "48 Hours" (3.182 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3).

Next up was NBC (2.799 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3) with an encore of "The National Dog Show Presented by Purina" (2.747 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T4) followed by "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (2.904 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T4).

And finally, FOX (1.768 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3) rounded out the night with "CFB on FOX" (1.768 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T4).

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

· A Nov. 25 encore of "Saturday Night Live," with host Gal Gadot and musical guest Sam Smith, has averaged a 2.8 rating, 8 share in households in Nielsen's 56 metered markets and a 1.0/5 in 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

· "Saturday Night Live" scored its highest household rating in the metered markets for a regular-slot encore since June 10 (2.9 with host Jimmy Fallon and musical guest Harry Styles, excludes a midnight Oct. 28 hourlong "Halloween Clips" encore that followed the "David S. Pumpkins" special) and equaled the show's highest 18-49 rating in the local people meters for a regular-slot rebroadcast since April 29 (1.1 with host Aziz Ansari and musical guest Big Sean, excludes the Oct. 28 midnight encore).

· Last night's "Saturday Night Live" maintained 100% of the show's rating from the same night last year in metered-market households (2.8 vs. 2.8 on Nov. 26, 2016 with host Lin-Manuel Miranda and musical guest Twenty One Pilots).
