Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Holds Off CBS in Tight Demo Race

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/9/19):

NBC (5.335 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #1) inched past the demo competition on Tuesday with its mix of "The Voice" (7.197 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1), "The Village" (4.177 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) and "New Amsterdam" (4.631 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3).

CBS (8.829 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #2) then was a close second with a new "NCIS" (11.587 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2), the premiere of "The Code" (8.167 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) and an original "NCIS: New Orleans" (6.735 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9).

Next up was ABC (3.174 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) and its lineup of "American Housewife" (3.607 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3), "The Kids Are Alright" (2.907 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9), "Black-ish" (2.853 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3), the season finale of "Splitting Up Together" (2.485 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9) and the penultimate week of "The Rookie" (3.598 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.290 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) served up fresh installments of "MasterChef Junior" (2.663 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) and "Mental Samurai" (1.917 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9).
